I'm selling my first gen Mac Mini since I never use it anymore. It's the original 1.33ghz G4 with 512K memory. I used it as a media center for a long time, but since the XBOX 360 started supporting most codecs, I never use it anymore. The Indian peafowl or peacock (Pavo cristatus) is also known as the common peafowl, and blue peafowl, and is a peafowl species native to the Indian subcontinent. It has been introduced to many other countries.
Male peafowl are referred to as peacocks, and female peafowl are referred to as peahens, although both sexes are often referred to colloquially as a "peacock". A Peacocks length from bill to tail can measure100 to 115 cm (39 to 45 in) and to the end of a fully grown train as much as 195 to 225 cm (77 to 89 in) and weigh 4–6 kg (8.8–13.2 lb). The females, or peahens, are smaller at around 95 cm (37 in) in length and weigh 2.75–4 kg (6.1–8.8 lb).

Cork (/kɔːrk/; Irish: Corcaigh, pronounced [ˈkoɾkɪɟ], from corcach, meaning "marsh") is a university city in south-west Ireland, in the province of Munster, which had a population of 125,622 in 2016.[3]
The city is situated on the River Lee which splits into two channels at the western end and divides the city centre into islands. They reconverge at the eastern end where the quays and docks along the river banks lead outwards towards Lough Mahon and Cork Harbour, which is one of the largest natural harbours in the world by navigational area.[6][7]
Expanded by Viking invaders around 915, the city's charter was granted by Prince John, as Lord of Ireland, in 1185. Cork city was once fully walled, and the remnants of the old medieval town centre can be found around South and North Main streets.
The city's cognomen of "the rebel city" originates in its support for the Yorkist cause during the English 15th century Wars of the Roses.[8] Corkonians often refer to the city as "the real capital"[9] in reference to its role as the centre of forces opposing the Anglo-Irish Treaty during the Irish Civil War.[10]

HD DVD H.264 10.3Mbps compression testing. Test completed in 0:04:05 on 720p/24 clip of duration 0:01:27. H.264 is a very processor intensive codec... love it... anything to feed the beast. Octopussy loves codecs. Compressor 3 is very optimized for multi-processors... this test was using up 99.9% of total processing power before I ran the screen capture.

Photograph taken at an altitude of One hundred and eighteen metres at 12.02pm on Monday 5th June 2023 off Mayfair Drive in the grounds of Mt Tolmie Park in Victoria on Vancouver Island in British Columbia.
In the distance we see Mt Baker in Washington State, USA, an active glaciated andesitic stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc and the North Cascades. Standing 3,286 metres tall, she was first ascended in 1868, her last eruption recorded in 1880.
The four Salishan language speaking First Nation bands nearest to Mount Baker know her by different names. Known to the Halkomelem as Kwelxá:lxw, Kwelshán (wounded by a shot) to the Lummi,Teqwúbe7 (snow-capped peak) to Lushootseed speakers along the Skagit River, and to the Nooksack language, the ice- and snow-covered top is Kweq’ Smánit (white mountain) while the high meadows around the peak are Kwelshán (shooting place)”.
There are also unsubstanciated references to Mt Baker as Komo Kulshan (pronounced kō-ō’mah’ kool-shän’), the name for the Middle Fork which originates from the glaciers such as Deming and Thunder on the western slopes, though Koma or Komo Kulshan is not a native name for the mountain in any of the twenty three collective Salishan languages.
The name Mount Baker first appeared in print in Captain Vancouver’s 1798 narrative of his voyage around Vancouver Island. Legend has it that his third-lieutenant, Joseph Baker, was the first to spot the mountain while they sailed into Dungeness Bay on April 30th, 1792.

Photograph taken at an altitude of One hundred and nine at 11.36am on Wednesday 7th June 2023 off the Capilano Pacific Trail on the Capilano treetops walk in West Vancouver, British Columbia.
Kia’palano (Beautiful river) was named by the Squamish first nations people, and gives Capilano park it's name. The suspension bridge was originally a cedar wood and rope bridge designed by George Grant Mackay, a Scottish civil engineer and park commissioner for Vancouver, in 1889. The park was sold and purchased and the bridge completely rebuilt in 1956 and later sold again in 1983 to the present owner, Nancy Stibbard.
A treetops adventure was built in 2004 and a cliffwalk added in 2011. The bridge is 140 metres in length and seventy metres from the river bed and receives more than 1.2 million visitors annually.
In June 2023 an adult day ticket was not cheap at $67.00 dollars Canadian, but the park makes for a great days enjoyment with food and drinks available.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Zero metres (Sea level) at 19:47pm on Wednesday 17th May 2023 on an unnamed and uninhabited by mankind wilderness, some distance from Dawley Passage Provincial Park and Meares Island in the Alberni-Clayoquot region, just off Tofino, British Columbia in Canada.
I was stationed in a seventy year old house I was renting in Campbell Street, Tofino and booked a place on a twenty three feet long Zodiac inflatable in full life saving gear with Remote Passages Marine Excursions at 51 Wharf Street in Tofino.
Here we see a Harbor seal (Phoca vitulina), also known as the common seal, a true seal found along temperate and Arctic marine coastlines of the Northern Hemisphere.
The most widely distributed species of pinniped, they are found in coastal waters of the northern Atlantic and Pacific oceans, Baltic and North seas.

Stronger winds were able to pull the camcorder up for about 30 minutes. All 1000ft of cord was played out and I chased the camera until it fell. And it did. And I missed it by like an inch (even though I dove for it!) But, its ok!.

After watching the entire video I have a new appreciation for where I live. The Palouse is so beautiful but its difficult to see from below the hilltops. I can't wait to get more footage!

A small sample of my photos taken in Rarotonga. . Because of the 150meg and 90 sec restriction i have edited the music down to fit the limit. Normal video rendering i use AVI High quality codec this file is just over 1GB. However this example has been converted to mpeg2, the file size is 52mb.

You can see how it does with video here. Video taken at dusk at a skate park in Long Beach, CA. It doesn't look as good on youtube as it does on my computer, though, since youtube compresses it. Youtube also messed up the sound (conflicting codecs or something?) so I swapped out the audio for a song.

I took Amancay, who had came up from Hood Rivers, OR for the Seattle Flickr Garage Shoot VII, on a photo excursion / whirlwind tour of Seattle. We had dinner down by the water front at Ivar's, and the seagulls have learned that they could be quite well fed by hanging out around there...
... so I went back to the car to grab the high speed video camera, the flashes and pocket wizards, and the super clamp. Fish for the humans and chips for the seagulls kept us entertained.
Please excuse the fact that these are unedited videos. AVCHD codec is proving to be a royal pain in the tailpipe to edit.
Outlook Express team re-formed

(Bryan Starbuck: Channel 9 Video of Outlook Express in Windows Vista) dated 3/3/2006 - 2006MAR03 on the new Outlook Express team. This is a shot of Bryan Starbuck, lead on the the renamed Windows Mail (Express is more descriptive).
Observations
But this time instead of crappy sound & cheesy red skin (the previous ms video codec was crap) we get a 100% improvement on a Win2K system running a Nero player for Win32.
Ask the engineer
Never believe marketing. Here Bryan debunks a lot of marketing crap associated with Express still being worked on but *quietly* . If you want to find something out, ask the engineers. They dont lie (as much). Bryan and his team have been flat out submitting software patents on vaguely described processes to do with email and contexts and phones. I'll add the links at some other time.
Nice to see MS working hard at innovating.

Statfold Country Park would once again host their March 'Spectacle of Steam' event— this time, a lot drier than the previous year! With a plethora of steam activity throughout the day and near-unlimited access to the main narrow gauge running line, there were plenty of visual opportunities to see the fleet in action.
This video mainly covers the section between Oak Tree Halt and Cogan Halt (where the Fellumpa Village is located). The only train I rode that day was the Garratt K1 hauling the Darjeeling coach set. Same as my last March visit, I didn't cover the 'Mease Valley Light Railway' as I focused on the 2ft railway instead.
Overall, another decent outing, and looking forward to their June event later in the year.

Le reportage se penche ensuite sur la préfabrication en usine. Ces procédés de préfabrication en usine selon le commentaire sont bien adaptés aux pays en voie de développement, cela est illustré dans le reportage par une réalisation en Libye à Benghazi. Dans la course à l'allégement des matériaux un procédé l'isola béton est présenté. Un chapitre sur la construction métallique explique les avantage de ce procédé. La fabrication de composants ouvre de nouvelles perspectives à l'industrie du bâtiment.

Il a introduit une nouvelle conception de l'art du paysage proche du Land art, Jacques Simon est l'auteur d'une série d'ouvrages sur différents aspects du paysage et abordés d'un point de vue technique. Il a travaillé de 1964 à 1966 en collaboration avec Michel Corajoud. Il a conçu le Parc de la Deûle (qui lui a valu le Grand Prix national du Paysage en 2006, après l'avoir reçu une première fois en 19901).
Il est mort le 29 septembre 20151 et a été incinéré à Auxerre Le paysagiste Jacques Simon s'est éteint le 26 septembre dernier à l'âge de 86 ans. Diplômé de Versailles en 1959, il fut sans doute l'une des figures les plus emblématiques, les plus géniales et les plus originales du paysagisme contemporain. Premier grand prix du paysage et prix du Conseil de l'Europe pour le parc de la Deule, on lui doit des principes de compositions très forts, autour du nivellement, du traitement du végétal ou de la place laissée au vide. Ses intuitions comme ses travaux ont inspiré tous les paysagistes avec lesquels il a travaillé, à commencer par Michel Corajoud ou Gilles Vexlard. On lui doit un profond renouvellement dans la composition des grands ensembles, ses réalisations -comme le parc Saint-John Perse à Reims- restant des modèles pour tous les professionnels. Jacques Simon développa également une production d'œuvres plus éphémères, attentif aux mouvements et aux transformations. Pédagogue talentueux et généreux, il le fut autant par les documents techniques et la revue qu'il publia, que par ses interventions en atelier devant plusieurs générations d'étudiants de l'école. Dans les années 1990 à l'école du Paysage de Versailles, lorsque nous entrions en première année, la première satisfaction était d'acquérir du nouveau matériel d'expression plastique. Encre, feutres, supports en grand format et sur papier calque...mais aussi découvrir des livres de notre professeur Jacques Simon : des carnets de dessins et de croquis, des photomontages découpés aux ciseaux.
En amphithéâtre lors de conférences et séances de projections de diapositives, Jacques Simon évoquait surtout sa capacité à piloter un hélicoptère. Je viens de retrouver un extrait d'un article à ce sujet...
« (...) Car depuis une dizaine d'années, le Bourguignon a trouvé une solution à son imagination en bourgeonnement permanent. Jacques Simon crée ‘pour lui tout seul'. Ni commande ni concours. Mais des messages géants écrits dans les champs et seulement visibles d'avion ou d'hélicoptère. Un art éphémère et privé dont il s'amuse, les veilles de moissons, tout autour de sa ferme de Turny, dans l'Yonne.
Et là, plus rien ne l'arrête. Les agriculteurs du coin ont pris l'habitude de le voir faucher des allées entières de luzerne. De l'apercevoir écraser d'interminables chemins de phacelia, un graminé californien qui existe en trois couleurs (blanc, bleu, rouge). De l'observer dans son hélicoptère photographiant le résultat. Ses messages sont des hommages ou des avertissements. L'un prévient : ‘Hé, si tu n'as plus de forêt t'es foutu.' Un autre : 'Sans les paysans, je m'emmerde. Signé : la Terre.' Même l'hiver, Jacques Simon s'adonne à cette calligraphie paysagère. (...) ».

He has since become an important link in the renewal of French landscape architecture, combining the Anglo-Saxon and Scandinavian garden cultures he absorbed in his travels with classic Latin structures. He works as often as possible in situ, and does not shy away from driving the tractor himself.
