My story starts out innocently enough. I was convinced by family to start a Facebook page. Once there I started connecting with some old friends who I hadn't seen in years. One of these friends just happened to live halfway around the world in Taiwan and worked with an animal rescue there. They sometimes send dogs that have serious health or behavioral problems to the US. They had just sent Little Coco over to Seattle and Douglas posted a picture. She was too cute so I went to meet her. She had mange so bad before they sent her to Seattle that they had to almost completely shave her coat off. It was just starting to fill back in nicely when I went to meet her. She was also very shy but soon started coming up to me to sniff and see what I was about. After a few minutes she even rolled over and let me pet her belly! The rest, as they say, is history.
She has since become a loving member of my family and is even learning to make friends with other people. We even have a standing joke that she is a bi-lingual dog since she has two microchips. They gave her one in Taiwan that we later found out isn't compatible with the readers here in the US so we had to give her another one.
I decided that she was getting to be such a good dog that I would take on a foster pup to help out a local rescue outfit close to me. His name is Leon and he and Coco soon became fast friends. I ended failing as a foster and adopted Leon too. They are now brother and sister and like a lot of siblings sometimes have disagreements, but they also love playing with each other and on rare occasions even share the same bed!!
I couldn't imagine how things would be if I didn't have both of these little pups. They bring so much laughter and joy into my life!! Adoption is such a great chance to find a fantastic pet!!

The softly scented letter you see here is part of an flower-alphabet that was created by about 40 people under the direction of alphabetician Chank Diesel. An open source OpenType version is in the works, but for now, here is a pretty letter portrait for you.
