I finally managed to unpack Coco over the weekend and tried new eyes on her x3 They seem to be a sort of pale, mauve-ish brown shade. I think they look great on her! I just don't know their brand as they came with Charlotte, whose first owner replaced her default with these (they are from a Japanese dealer). If I ever find out where they are from, I'd love to get more! They have gorgeous depth.

i have been wanting to make this sweater ever since the book came out,and finally found a cheap yarn substitute: as soon as i cast on with the grey i couldn’t help but think of that adorable fearsome dictator and prodigious scotch drinker, colonel meow—and so it’s become something of a knitted tribute to how much he’ll be missed by the minion who will eventually wear it, i.e. me.

The front parking lot and gate at the Coco Palms. They have had to post for trespassing and fence the property, which must have been hugely expensive for the owners, in order to save what is left. There is more than a mile of fencing around the property!

This is a good view of the upside-down-righty-neck-on-a-lefty-body-strung-righty-so-it-really-is-upside-down guitar configuration that Coco plays. (phew. that was a mouthful). As I said in my review for the Colorado Springs Gazette, rather than getting too hung up on this, watching a woman in the crowd slow dance with a post kinda said it all!

Coco Palms Resort was a resort hotel in Wailuā, Kauaʻi, Hawaiʻi. The resort was visited by numerous movie stars and was also the scene of Elvis Presley's film Blue Hawaii. The resort has been closed since being hit by Hurricane Iniki in 1992.
