My Columbines are in bloom now. Super easy to propagate - at the end of the season, let the flowers dry without cutting and it will enclose itself. You'll know when its dry enough when you can shake it and it sounds like a rattle. Then you shake the seeds out and plant late fall-winter, they pop out like wildflowers =)
For those wanting more pics of Cobalt Plaza, I give you... more pics of Cobalt Plaza. Built by the talented David Michon for the SCLTC winter show. I was told $175 a sq. foot. Yeah.
This sight greets you to some fine delectable Italian meals in one of Shangri-La Mactan's restaurants "Acqua". They offer a modern twist to basic Italian fare, be it pasta, risotto, or your usual meat and seafood dishes.
Random Abstract Shangri-La Mactan walkabout...
Luckily the hoses and wires are long enough that I could relocate ithem to this metel flange. I'll see how this works out, and if it doesn't, I'll figure out something else.
playing around with the macro lens at home today. this is a blue water glass; the curved lines are a dining chair as seen through the glass. i attempted a macro/bokeh-y shot too.
only after i looked at this on my laptop did it remind me of a lot of lady vervaine's work, which has been a huge inspiration to me. i love how i didn't even know i was channeling LV's work until after the shutter fired.
that right there is the single best thing about flickr, imo.

This Cobalt Qube ran the Newted Community site for several years before the hard drive finally died of a hardware conniption. I have also posted a series of images documenting the disassembly and extraction of the hard drive.
The Hemingray 19 was offered in a wide array of colors, ranging from clear to cobalt blue, as seen here. These are very difficult to find in the wild, so most collectors are forced to purchase them from one another for exorbitant amounts of money.

This month's Skills Corner for our Our Daily Challenge (group 2) is colored shadows, so I thought I'd give it a whirl. This is a goblet from a set of dishware given to me by my aunt. She used to work in an antique store and has some wonderful treasures. I'd like to try this again sometime with different lighting. I'm not loving the reflection of the window in the goblet and I wish I could have captured the stem in the shadow as well. At any rate, shadow shots are cliche, right? And if not, surely the added quote throws it into the category. ;)
Happy Cliche Saturday! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! I'm headed to the zoo with our 21 mo. old granddaughter...her first time! :)

A view without my easel , not hard to figure out where the lake got it's name. Love how jagged the peaks are and the amazing reflections. The scene simply took my breath away!

Unearthed this from the shed and found it was further along than I remembered. So I guess my plan was a blue bottle flower!!! 30" diameter. Will start tiling soon.
Photos taken at a workshop with Dave Brosha. Big thanks to Daver and to the other participants for their help and ideas!
This was the next day and we went to an outdoor mining museum and did so exercises there to get us to see photos in places we wouldn't think of it.
Here we had to try to find some colourful abstracts among all the mining machinery!
