These spindles for Haas HRT450 rotary tables are fresh from the grinding department in the Haas Automation machine shop. Before grinding, the spindles were turned on a Haas ST-40 turning center, and then drilled and tapped on a Haas EC-400PP Pallet Pool horizontal machining center.

Next, each spindle will be assembled with a large-diameter aluminum-bronze gear blank, and then trammed-in on a CNC gear hobber to a maximum 2-micron runout before the worm gear is cut. After deburring and inspection, each spindle will be assembled into a reliable and accurate Haas HRT450 rotary table.

WESTE 2012 visitors gather around the UMC 750, eager to catch a glimpse of Haas‘ concept 5-axis machining center in action.

These platters for Haas UMC-750 and UMC-750SS universal machining centers are ready for final grind in the Haas machine shop. The platters are rough machined on a tombstone fixture in a Haas EC-1600YZT HMC with integrated 4th-axis, and then finish machined on a Haas VF-5/50-taper VMC to ensure parallelism of the top and bottom surfaces. The top surfaces are then finish ground, before the platters go to assembly.

Many machines, like the ST-30, are sold throughout the day at the Haas Demo Days 2011 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Customers attending the Haas Demo Days 2011 in Brookfield, Wisconsin receive demos to see the machines in action.

These drive gears for Haas TR310 Dual-Axis Trunnion Tables are in-process on a Haas SL-20APL turning center in the Haas machine shop. The 6061-T6 aluminum blanks are automatically loaded into the machine for the first op – turning the gear OD and center-boring – and then returned to the loading table. The blanks are then automatically loaded back into the machine to finish the hub side of the gear. Final machining is done on a Haas VF-7, before the blanks go to the gear hobber for teeth.

Preparations are underway for HaasTec 2013 at the Haas Automation facility in Oxnard, CA. The 4-day event starts Tuesday, and includes factory tours, machine demonstrations, vendor booths, and a catered lunch.
