Winds are gusting to 27 mph. Taken at Oneida Shores County Park. Brewerton, NY

Yesterday morning's sunrise from my place.

50 mile per hour winds and fast moving clouds made for an interesting sunset last night.

These well defined clouds were not dropping this morning. Perhaps rain clouds will follow as rain is finally forecast.

The morning was golden! I think we are in for more rain!

I call this "crazy clouds", because I had not seen anything quite like them before. I love clouds, and am always looking up to see if I can see some really unique ones. This was at Vasona Lake.

Looks as if it was taken from the ISS, doesn't it?

This storm developed to the west of Ottawa and moved eastward towards my home. The other storm picture is taken from the north side of the storm

Cumulonimbus clouds tower over the San Rafael Bridge

Had a doctor's appointment this morning and on my way back from it I saw this smokestack so I got off the highway and grabbed a couple of shots. It's frigid cold today but the sun is out and the sky is blue.

Day 6 of 365

These clouds looked like a crashing wave about to cover the sky !!

They keep on coming...

These were the most interesting cloud formations on our outing.

The mid day sun burning through fast moving clouds over Godrevey beach on the Lizard Peninsula Cornwall. A fresh look at my local beach using the Lee 10 stop. I was surprised what I could shoot even when the sun was so strong. On this shot, I just wondered what I could 'get away with' as an experiment. As it turned out, I could get away with more than I thought! A narrow f stop gave me a sweet sun burst and the clouds were perfect for this type of long exposure. Apart from spending FAR too long cloning out flare from around the sun area, the rest of the image has only had minor touches from the RAW file. For me it looks like a moonlit scene, but with more punch. I liked the way the clouds made some giant 'wings' coming in diagonally to the frame like that. I have some more seascapes from this session that I quite like and will surely post in the near future.

It is nice to be able to push the boundaries a bit, especially as it is so easy to just delete the miss cues. I say easy, but actually I get weirdly attached to shots even if they are far from perfect. It is like deleting your own child at first, but then wait a few weeks, look again and think 'why is that thing here cluttering up my hard drive?' Anyaway, I hope you like it, and thanks for all of the recent comments of support and encouragement. I plan to offer some workshops in the near future, very small groups or 1 to 1, so if you are interested get in touch :)

I would love to know what you make of this shot.

The weather turns a bit threatening.

Waking up and seeing sun peeping through mist only means one thing... Get out of bed and up those hills! The Langdales sandwiched in fluffy white cloud this morning taken from Side Pike.

Clouds over Pennington Country Park, with Winter Hill just visible in the background. And a blue sky the first for weeks here.
