Glitský yfir Akureyri í dag. Sjúklegt.....Maður var rétt mætur í vinnu og gat því ekki valið fallegan forgrunn. Svo að maður varð að velja nokkrar stillingar til að fá sem mest djúsi liti.

During our trip, one of the most spectacular things I have witnessed was the intense thunderstorms that continued after the sunset. The lightning strikes were easily 1 or more every second, some of them bright enough to make it look like day time.
When you get strikes this often, you begin to be picky about the shape and position of the strikes... We stopped on the roadside to try to capture some strikes and stumbled upon this grain silo in the middle of a field. Despite having plenty of strikes, we wanted one right above the silo. I think all of us in the group managed to capture this stunning cloud-to-cloud strike.

Flying past a line of thunderstorms I caught a glimpse through a gap between two cumulonimbus storms. Their anvil tops had merged together above me making this window through to clearer skies beyond.

Sometimes, when there is a touch of Narnia in the air, the wind is still, the water is quiet and the clouds come down to float on the lake.
After tea it's back to painting - a large poplar at dusk with a gathering storm. From time to time instead of this evening painting session I go bowling in one of the neighbouring villages, but not very often.---Gustav Klimt
I love the stormy skies, the cloud textures and the slight threat of walking under a gathering storm...
