Female Cloudless Sulphur (Phoebis sennae) butterfly at the Faulkner-Franke Railroad Prairie Reserve, Illinois. She wouldn't let me get very close and I didn't have my macro with me. Finally shot it on partridge pea (Chamaechrista fasciculata).
This is the yellow form of the Cloudless Sulphur caterpillar. The color of this larva depends upon which part of the Senna plant that it eats. When eating the leaves the caterpillars are green. If they eat the flowers then they are yellow like this one.
