Cloudless sunset at the east side of the Ammersee in upper Bavaria

Not a cloud to be found at Potato Point this morning....

it has taken a lot of convincing not to turn this B&W....

Another great morning with a fab group in Narooma.

The cloudless sulphur or cloudless giant sulphur

Pieridae; Coliadinae

Phoebis sennae on its host and nectar plant, Partridge Pea, in Richmond, Texas.

It was cloudless when I went out. Then? One cloud. ONE. Seven mozzie bites. The things I do.

Pretty Pinkism - better late than never, yes?

Now someone pls pass the After Bite!

Near the pier in Worthing on a hot day.

A boring sunset vanishes behind 238 as it crosses the Seneca River in Clemson, SC.

On it's host Senna bush ... out front in God's garden on new landscaping!

Another male cloudless sulphur but this one is young & in prime condition. Yellow butterfly on yellow flowers in bright sunlight is challenging to photograph. Hope to find a caterpillar someday, they are also yellow & beautiful with black stripes.

Красивый безоблачный закат.

I had a rare and nice visitor for a couple of hours on my patio this midday (both of us were masked). While we were talking, I noticed this female Cloudless sulphur at the Encore azalea ‘autumn embers’ and loved the color combination, so I rushed inside, got my camera, and took this shot.

Cloudless sky, almost!!

I went back three times to this location hoping for some drama in the sky during sunrise or sunset. This was the best I could do.

Smith Rock near Bend Oregon

Cloudless Sulphur butterflies. All three are female. Males have no spots on their wings. The shot isn't perfect - they were some distance away and I saw them just as I turned to leave because the dark clouds were moving in - but it was such a fun shot I went for it.

Cloudless Sulphurs are large fast flying butterflies with males being particularly dizzying flyers as they search for females. Wing span is 2 1/4 - 3 1/8 inches (5.7 - 8 cm). Males are yellow with no markings on the upper side of the wings and faint spots underneath. Females are yellow above with black marginal spots, while the spots underneath are more prominent and noticeable than on males.

Permanent resident from Argentina north to southern Texas and the Deep South. Regular visitor and occasional colonist in most of the Southwest and the northern United States from the Midwest into New England, and sometimes as far north as Ontario, Canada. But many years it can be rare or non-existent in its northern range.

Flight season is year around in the Deep South; may have one flight in late summer in other southern states; immigrants to northern states in August or September usually do not reproduce. As the weather cools in autumn, adults begin a return migration back to the Deep South to overwinter.

Adult butterflies nectar from many different flowers, but prefer those with long tubes such as cordia, bougainvilla, cardinal flower, trumpet vine, hibiscus, lantana, wild morning glory, and jewelweed.

ISO400, aperture f/8, exposure .001 seconds (1/1250) focal length 300mm

Both of these emerged sometime this morning or late in the day yesterday. It blows my mind that butterflies are still emerging in mid December. The high today was 62 with a stiff wind. But we sunny skies and it warmed up enough in the afternoon for both to take first flight. San Diego County, CA.

This photo was taken at the Audubon Center at Strawberry Plains near Holly Springs, Ms.

A disappointing day as the clouds cleared from morning and a lot of smoke haze in the air from forests being burnt off to reduce the fire hazard. Also police and rescue personnel here, boats searching offshore and motorbikes tearing through the bush, and up and down the beaches. I believe some bush biker crashed and broke a leg. I packed up and left. Pinnacles Beach Ben Boyd North National Park. View North toward Haycock Point.

I guess one can have color with out clouds, eh!

I think this is a cloudless sulphur. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
