Hopefully this is an interesting take on the Bean, Chicago.
It looks better full screen so please press "L" and check it
One morning on my recent trip to Chicago, it started fine but slowly fog came in. I again visited The Bean before it got too busy.
Explore # 336
Alternative view of the Cloud Gate sculpture in Millennium Park, Chicago.
From this angle the installation is more like a droplet of liquid mercury than a bean.
Day and night, photographers flock to "The Bean" to capture this chrome sculpture's great reflections of Chicago and themselves.
had a lot of fun shooting this, I think I will have to go back!

AKA Cloudgate
Chicago, Illinois

Cloud Gate, a public sculpture by Indian-born British artist Anish Kapoor, is the centerpiece of the AT&T Plaza in Millennium Park within the Loop community area of Chicago, Illinois, United States. The sculpture and AT&T Plaza are located on top of Park Grill, between the Chase Promenade and McCormick Tribune Plaza & Ice Rink. Constructed between 2004 and 2006, the sculpture is nicknamed "The Bean" because of its bean-like shape. Made up of 168 stainless steel plates welded together, its highly polished exterior has no visible seams. It is 33 by 66 by 42 feet (10 by 20 by 13 m), and weighs 110 short tons.
Said to have been inspired by liquid mercury, the sculpture's surface reflects and distorts the city's skyline. Visitors are able to walk around and under Cloud Gate's 12-foot (3.7 m) high arch. On the underside is the "omphalos" (Greek for "navel"), a concave chamber that warps and multiplies reflections.
Cloud Gate, or as it is more commonly and affectionately known, the Bean, is a sculpture in Chicago's Millennium Park by British artist Anish Kapoor. Explore #164, 24/09/14.
I used a 9-stop nd filter here to blur some of the people. Some of them are still pretty sharp because they were standing still posing for selfies in the Bean's reflective surface. I like how it's turned out but I think it would have been more effective if there were a few more people around.
We all know it better as "The Bean".
I really need to get caught up on Flickr. I have a huge back log from trips the past few months!
I loved every second of taking and editing this picture. This picture contains 7 step HDR along with 133 pictures to take everyone out.
Cloudgate (The Bean) in Chicago is one of my favorite places in the world. Every reflective pic you take of it is a selfie, although it can be hard to find!

The reflections of adjacent buildings are bent and twisted in the polished stainless steel skin of Anish Kapoor’s "Cloud Gate", colloquially known as “The Bean”, in Millennium Park, Chicago.
Found this one digging through my archive... Enjoy for your personal use if you really want this shot of me shooting the underbelly of Cloudgate. No commercial use without permission.
