Between Adams 4 (now Abigail Adams) and Thunderstorm Junction. Visibility was quite good here, you can see 2-3 cairns. At times you couldn't see 10 ft. It was during these times that we were navigating with either map and compass, or verifying location with GPS. Or in some cases, just using the mental GPS in my head to guess the correct course. If you hike route enough, it becomes almost second nature in some respects, right up to you start doubting your internal GPS.

I don't use a GPS for point to point navigation, that is how you walk off a cliff or ravine headwall. I merely check my location and then evaluate where to go based on the map and compass bearings.

Some folks from South Burlington were nice enough to exchange group photo opportunities with us.

Weird not seeing the Marmot Thunderlight in the shot, but the EMS Helix jacket was phenomenal. My only fear is the zippers holding out. Not crazy about new technology on the tried and true and the zippers do seem to require some effort at times! Definitely have the receipt and tags archived in case there are any issues!
