A hot summer's day; harvest time at Downham Farm near Kilham, Cheviot foothills. On this day cloudbase was just a couple of hundred feet above the hilltop and so the clouds feel very close. Taken with polarizing filter.
We circle together a few times and then he heads up to cloudbase at around 3500 or so. Cloudbase was low in the valley but the clouds were sparse over the bay and the ridge so it wasn't an issue today
This cloud base looks like it's on the ground, doesn't it? I guess its actual altitude might be 6,000 ft but it sure does look strange.
These grainy shots are not the best ever Reds shots, however!! They are a tribute to undoubtedly the best Aerobatic Display Team. The Reds performed at Belfast City on 4 October 2008 in a cloudbase around 1500feet in pouring rain. No one expected a display everyone was once again thrilled at the skill on display.
