Compositionally Challenged week 40 is Shoot the Light.

Trees block the sunrise from view at my house, but they can't stop me from enjoying the clouds' morning blush just minutes before official sunrise.

Sky above Luther Britt Park on Saturday while my wife and I walked around the trails at the park.

I have spent the last 2 days playing tourist in and around Cirali...As most of your might know I have to work in this lovely place all summer long and get very little time for photography..well I have made that up in the past 2 days...

loads of great photos to follow...

I shot this panorama from the upper level cafe, looking out over the plaza and main entrance to the museum.

On a hike to Island Lake out on Grouse Ridge in the Tahoe National Forrest in California. It was kinda cold up there, but it was nice because we were moving. A great day for a hike.

We're in the middle of a heatwave at the moment, temperatures reaching almost 30° C in some places, but over the last few days we've had unsettled weather. Today the sky went black, but no rain fell. At one point half the sky was black, half blue. Amazing weather.
