11 intrepid volunteers floated the John Day from Twickenham to Clarno. On the way they stopped for two days to get their hands dirty restoring an important upland spring in the Pine Creek Conservation Area. We were able to plant 800 native species at the denuded spring and opened up the pool for surface water access to deer, elk and other wildlife. Volunteers also wrote letters to congress in support of the Sutton Mountain, and Cathedral Rock and Horse Heaven Wilderness proposals.

Easily one of my favorite things about the Southwest is all the open sky and the vast unlimited views it affords. Largely because those open views allow me the joy of watching the clouds in all their forms and glory.
"I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you" Isaiah 44:22.
This photograph was taken in South Dakota in the midst of constantly blowing wind. It isn't the best photograph, but between the wind and the clouds, bending under the force of the breeze, it reminded me of Yahweh's words quoted by Isaiah. The thought of the verse and the memory of being there are very encouraging.
this is a shot i've been looking for on my hard drive since i got my pro account. above and below the cloudline at the same time, settings don't come better designed than this one. as with the other photos in this series justice is not really done to the beauty of the visual at this size. take a peek at the 1024(or full size) image.
It simply takes a word to take a message across from A to B. Yet, for deliberate or non-deliberate action, it takes certain people many ways to get the message across. Some people write, some people draw, some sing, some take photos.... Maybe the message is not for the moment, maybe it is for the future, maybe it is indirect, maybe it was a time machine.
