One of Iizuka's secret, hidden treasures is Kubushiro Dam. It is only 5 or 6 km from the downtown buy possible the quietest most relaxing places in Kyushu.
Surrounded by trees not a sound from the city or roads is able to penetrate into the reservoir area. Not only that, hardly anybody goes there so it is very clean and peaceful; a great place to take a book and relax. One of my favorite places
We were driving the back roads in central New Mexico when a storm began to build. I t was great watching these clouds build into a large thunderstorm.
This photo was taken on the 3th of Dec. 2007 in Friesland (NL).
One of my favorites taken with my first digital camera (Olympus Camedia 310Z ).
This picture has a great symbolic value for me and my wife
Saw these on the trailing edge of a severe thunderstorm that came through the area. Deliberately didn't crop the foreground so as to give size perspective.

Oh those blue skies are very nice
but if you stop to think twice,
by clouds they are enhanced
and they keep us all entranced.
When fascination takes root
photographs we must shoot,
and with camera in hand
we will wander the land.
When we start to obsess
of cloudscapes to possess,
life takes on a new meaning
and there’s no time for cleaning!
The weather may be foul or fair
but there’ll still be clouds up there,
and we can take photo’s galore
then stop, to take just one more.
Of our collections we are proud
especially that elusive cloud,
and to catch an optical effect
can really make our day perfect.

Clouds having a nice elongated shape with a bit of land, taken while I was walking, to test my new polarizing filter.
I don't know what kind of clouds these are that I shot on yesterday morning's walk, but they presaged much needed rain.
EDIT: Someone in the Cloud Appreciation Society on Facebook says these are altocumulus with perhaps some mammatus in the lower right.
