I never thought sky could be blue on a very cloudy day. =) Photo taken during EB photoshoot with Scubapup, Otit and Etharanz a.k.a Baldo. Taken from a bridge.
Out for a hike on the 22nd in the Superstitions. The sunset was a flop, but these clouds were about 30min. before the sun went down. Not much on the composition here as this light only lasted a few minutes.
Merry Christmas to all.

I think you have to know who you are. Get to know the monster that lives in your soul, dive deep into your soul and explore it.

My photo for the 8th May. I had to fly to queensland today so this is the only photo opportunity I got, a picture out of the plane window. Sorry its a bit noisy
Sunset with Moon and Venus in upper left. You'll need to view large to see them.
Eugene, Oregon.
The next day, the Moon eclipsed Venus as seen from Europe.
New Mexico is in the national news again, but this time it is because a couple of people have died in the southern NM desert. The beauty of the landscapes here attract all sorts, and sadly, this is not the first time that this has happened here.
People that are not used to the altitude and heat do not understand just how deadly this environment can be, while those (like myself) that have grown up here have life-saving habits as a matter of course.
I know many of my photographer and artist friends love to get out into New Mexico’s wide open spaces, but I’d like to remind you all, it is easy around here to find yourself in a situation where there is not a soul for many miles, and if you didn’t bring it, it is not there.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, stay safe.
The end of daylight was approaching trying to create a warm light yet having a hard time pushing through the fog and low clouds of the evening.
Constructed in 1871 for the Atchison & Nebraska City Railroad, which became part of the Burlington system in 1885. The rail line was abandoned in the 1930's and the depot was relocated to its Main Street location in 1938.
Contemplando il banco di nuvole che invade la scena, quasi non ci si accorge che al margine basso destro della foto fa la sua timida comparsa l'abitato di Castelluccio di Norcia
This is looking north of our high camp down into the valley below Mount Tom where Glacier Creek flows, the entire area was obscured by a sea of clouds as the sun starts to set.
A crow in mid-air. I loved the way the light came just through the clouds making the photo a bit more interesting. :)

Mountains in Chugach National Forest. I shot this from a car because there was no safe place to pull out nearby. It was a gloomy evening and there was only 2-3 min of time that the light pass through the clouds.

I think Charlie Russel was in charge of painting the clouds that day...
If you've ever seen Charlie Russel paintings, you know all about Charlie Russel clouds. If you haven't, well, here's a little introduction:
In old St. Louis over in Missouri
The mighty Mississippi, well,
it rolls and flows.
A son was born to Mary Russell
And it starts the legend every cowboy knows.
Young kid Russell was born to wander.
Ever westward he was bound to roam,
Just a kid of sixteen in 1880.
Up in wild Montana he found his home.
God made Montana for the wild man,
For the Piegan and the Sioux and Crow,
Saved His greatest gift for Charlie,
Said, “Get her all down before she goes.
You gotta get her all down ‘cause she’s bound to go.”
God hung the stars over Judith Basin.
God put the magic in young Charlie’s hands.
And all was seen and all remembered,
Every shining mountain, every longhorn brand.
He could paint the light on horsehide shining,
The great passing herds of the buffalo,
And a cow camp cold on a rainy morning,
And the twisting wrist of the Houlihan throw.
When the Lord called Charlie to his home up yonder
He said, “Kid Russell, I got a job for you.
You’re in charge of sunsets up in old Montana
‘Cause I can’t paint them quite as good as you,
And when you’re done, we’ll go out and have a few,
And Nancy Russell will make sure it’s just two.
