Imagine a traveller trudging across the desert.. Searing sun, scorching heat, no place to hide from merciless elements.. And then, a lonely cloud floating above in the sky brings over its shadow, giving our pilgrim a slight relief ..
Clouds advancing towards the open sea from the coastal area. A view from the road leading to Voz cove towards the south.

No chance of getting a 100mm macro on these insects - far too active and skittish. Telephoto was the only way and even then it's taken a while. So here is clouded yellow on scabious - complementary colours to boot.
Beautiful weather today so stopped off on the way home from todays wedding to grab a personal shot of the beautiful sky.
I was planning to go to the coast to capture some seascapes, but we wouldn’t make it in time. We pulled over at the beginning of Waikoloa road and I ran through the bushes to setup a timelapse of Kohala Mountain. It’s not very common to see Haleakalā Mountain of Maui from here. Kohala Mountain is on the far right, and Maui is in the distance.

On a cold January evening in 2001, my wife and I wandered into a part of Beijing that the Mongols built hundreds of years ago. They hand dug lakes in the center of the city to remind themselves of Lake Baikal in their homeland, and because they had to do something with all that soil, mounds were created, and temples were added later. I like the juxtaposition of old and modern buildings here. Equally interesting is what you can't see: there's a KFC behind me!
