Some story-related stuff I had in an old notebook (which I think ended up on my blog eventually). I kind of like the closeup of a single sentence on the page; it's neat.
VIEW LARGE. A closeup view of some of the thousands of tiny photos that make the mosaic of Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney, hanging in the lobby of the exhibit hall housing "The First 50 Years" exhibit at Disneyland. These little photos make the eyes and nose of Mickey.
Closeup of T45C Goshawk Navy Trainer aircraft canopy, showing detail of Canopy Destruct system (the sharply-angled lines near the longitudinal center of the canopy) which consists of a ribbon explosive. This system shatters the canopy immediately prior to pilot ejection.
This is an original acrylic painting of mine that can be seen in entirety here at my other account: www.flickr.com/photos/bncatchesthelight/283910542 or by going to my website catches-the-light.com under "Cloth Paintings", "2006", "Hummingbird" - where it was for sale but now SOLD :>)
These are my students, posing me, while we`re having break. And their comment was, after they saw this one, was: "Like a characters from Kusturica`s movie..." :)
Strobist Sundays -- specular highlights
[gonna recycle an old shot. no time to shoot a new one this week. sorry.]
A combination of slow shutter speed, a flash and a couple warm, bright CFLs...oh, and marbles in motion. The surface they are on is textured, semi-gloss black....really!
bubblicious!
I was shooting the flowers, and only noticed the bubbles when I was editing.
The Vase had a green tint, hence the 'color' of the water...
Closeup of flower with Fuji X10. Crop from center of moderately larger image. One annoyance is that you can't use flash with extreme closeup - makes sense for the built in flash since the lens blocks it, but annoying you can't have a flash in the hot shoe in that situation.
Canon flash in hotshoe, bounced behind and to the side of flower.
A closeup of an orange lily using a 105mm lens. Photo made in our backyard in the Albuquerque foothills.
