I forget if this was near Tiffany or Sherman falls; one of them for sure.
Was trying out this new lens rental; couldn't get my hand on the higher quality version of this and so settled with this one, instead. Seems to have endured quite a bit of rough use as it wasn't focusing well and there are a lot of aberration issues that I couldn't reasonably get rid of in post. I originally rented this for photography a rugby game but realized after a handful of photos that it wasn't going to work out. Love Henry's for their awesome service, but this piece seems to have neared the end of its useful time in front of a camera. Admittedly, there is some user error too, with some shakiness, shooting at 1/40s at 70mm.

Closer up look at Spongebob.
All buttercream icing. Pattern transfer did not work so ended up freehanding it. :D
Closeup of stitching from "The Beach Placemat".
The background is a plain calico that I sponge - painted with acrylic paints mixed with a textile medium. I mixed yellows and browns and a creamy metallic which is what gives the shiny sand effect
I found this guy standing in the driveway looking outraged after I pulled in and parked. It then decided to take refuge by running up on to my rear tire.
For scale, that is the tread of a relatively new Goodyear Regatta 2 (size P205/75R14) it is hanging on to. Each pair of tread blocks is about 1 inch wide.

Some story-related stuff I had in an old notebook (which I think ended up on my blog eventually). I kind of like the closeup of a single sentence on the page; it's neat.
VIEW LARGE. A closeup view of some of the thousands of tiny photos that make the mosaic of Mickey Mouse and Walt Disney, hanging in the lobby of the exhibit hall housing "The First 50 Years" exhibit at Disneyland. These little photos make the eyes and nose of Mickey.
Closeup of T45C Goshawk Navy Trainer aircraft canopy, showing detail of Canopy Destruct system (the sharply-angled lines near the longitudinal center of the canopy) which consists of a ribbon explosive. This system shatters the canopy immediately prior to pilot ejection.
This is an original acrylic painting of mine that can be seen in entirety here at my other account: www.flickr.com/photos/bncatchesthelight/283910542 or by going to my website catches-the-light.com under "Cloth Paintings", "2006", "Hummingbird" - where it was for sale but now SOLD :>)
