Scriptures may look like ink on tree fiber, but the words and word-pictures conveyed touch each reader slightly differently. Even the same person may understand the text differently according to life stage or current preoccupations filling their mind or heart. In this way, wrestling with what is said (and equally significantly, what is not said) can shine a light in unexpected ways.
