Bromeliad – it is an Aechmea fasciata, commonly called a Silver vase, Exotic Brush or Urn plant. At this point in its life the plant slowly dies off while growing 'pups' (small plants) at its base. The pups can be potted up when the mother plant dies, and in two years the pups will bloom just like this one...info by flickr member LavenderBee..
