It is so hard to believe that it's been over 5 months since this particular visit to Elk Island... A lovely evening, that ended with a storm hitting the park. As always, before the rain, there was about a million of bugs flying all over and you can definitely see them on most of the pictures I have taken that day... All in all, I wouldn't mind the bugs, if it was still green and warm around ;D

Yes, I'm making fun of the maxim "If your pictures aren't good enough, you aren't close enough”

The 14mm has roughly the same iris size, but it's set further back on the eyewell because it can't fit as nicely.

Attempting a macro shot using a macro lens attachment. Not too bad, but I just couldn’t get it detailed enough.
I had a close encounter back in 1997. I will never forget that evening... :-)

Held the first stage of my "Photographing The Night Sky" workshop last night, which went great except for the thick fog that rolled in literally 10 minutes before the workshop started. As such, this image is from a demonstration of "making something out of nothing"....just needed a spaceship in there ...to make it complete.

Vicars' Close, Wells
Vicars' Close next to Wells Cathedral is a stunning medieval cobbled street. It is said to be the oldest continually occupied street in Europe. It was built in 1360s as an extension of the cathedral by Bishop Ralph of Shrewsbury. He built the Vicar's Hall and Close to give the men of the quire secure accommodation away from the temptations of the town. The Close and Cathedral are linked by a bridge.
It still houses members of the choir today and has remained unchanged in nearly 700 years.
