The towerclock dates 1920 and was donateur by ship-owner N. J. Holden and wife. The clock was made at the Cornelis Knudsen workshop by clockmaker Jens Olsen, better known for this worldclock at the Copenhagen Townhall.
new cool pixel clock, which I've saw on this lewspeight's picture www.flickr.com/photos/29821828@N08/3316891070/ and I thought that I must have it ;)
and one more thing – in real life – the letters are white not blue :)
This is an old New Haven clock. Not sure when it was made. The case has fell apart.
The brass mechanism needs cleaned, but it still works. I wanted to restore but it may be beyond my skills.

A look in the clock hall of Train World in Schaarbeek, Brussels. Development of the railway network led in many countries to a national standardised time, and Belgium was no exception. The interior design of the railway museum is based on the ideas of Brussels draftsman François Schuiten
I was given the idea to turn this into a clock by a reddit user lonelytax. So I put one together quickly.

The Kremlin Clock or Kremlin Chimes also known colloquially in the West as Moscow Clock Tower, is a historic clock on the Spasskaya Tower of Moscow ...
This is the main dial on the medieval astronomical clock on the south side of Prague's Old Town Hall. It was installed in 1410 and is the oldest working clock of this kind.
The background represents the Earth and the local view of the sky. Within the blue circle directly at the centre is our planet, Earth.
Golden Roman numerals at the outer edge of blue circle are the timescale of a normal 24-hour day and indicate time in local Prague time, or Central European Time.
The smaller circular dial is movable and has the 12 signs of the zodiac. The golden sun on one of the hands shows the location of the Sun relative to the Earth's orbit around it. In this photo, it is on the symbol ♌︎ (for Leo); this image was captured on August 1st). The darker globe on another hand shows the phases of the Moon.
The four figures flanking this clock dial represent four things to avoid/fear. From left they are Vanity, Greed, Death, and Lust.

This clock is amazing. It shows local time in Copenhagen, solar time, the time at any location on earth, the time of sunrise and sunset both according to local time and actual solar time, lengths of day and night. The Gregorian calendar shows the year (6), the day of the week, date and month (7), local mean time - Central European time, the daily time 15° east of Greenwich in hours, minutes and seconds. A perpetual calendar consists of 5 dials, indicating: The Sunday letter (3), the epact (4), the sun circle (5), the indiction (6) and the moon circle (7). Furthermore, there is a calendar showing the 12 months of the year, the days and dates of the week, every moon phase as well as the calculated Easter Sunday - all other holidays according to Easter Sunday. The perpetual calendar are automatically set in motion every New Years Eve at midnight, to calculate the calendar for the following year. It runs for the next 2500 years.
The star map over Denmark and the slow precession of the motion of the earth's axis over 25.753 years.
The geocentrical orbit with the Earth as its centre. Here you can obtain knowledge of the sun's and moon's eclipses, the distance between the Earth and the Moon - the apse line and the knot line.
The solar system with the planets Mercury, Venus, the Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune around the Sun.
The year (4) and number of days (5) according to the Julian time period which is 7.980 years.
It doesn't have a USB port.

This photograph has taken on a life of its own. I say this because it is viewed by many people every day.
The shot was taken on a very windy day in the backyard of my old house with my first DSLR and prime macro lens. What surprises me is that despite the dandelion being blown about by the wind (and being a handheld shot (I was on my hands and knees)) the central detail is so clear!
So, if you are one of the people who have viewed and enjoyed this, since it was first shared on flickr, please accept my thanks and gratitude.
Like ALL of my photographs this is © stephen cotterell photography so please do not use this without my express permission. If it is for your personal blog I am more than likely to say yes but please check. If you want it for any kind of commercial activity (including your internal powerpoint presentation) then you need to pay me BEFORE use. I feel sure that you understand.
Thank you
Lost the plot. I've knitted a clock.

On the morning of December 6th, 1917, the most violent man-made explosion before the atomic bomb rocked Halifax harbour, in Nova Scotia, Canada, when a Norwegian vessel collided with a French munitions ship. The blast completely flattened everything within 800 meters, sent shrapnel flying for several kilometers, and started a tsunami that demolished whole communities. More than 1900 people died that day, and 10,000 suffered horrific, life-long injuries. Flying glass from windows throughout the city, blinded thousands as they stood watching the fire moments before the big explosion. The stories of both tragedy and heroism are plentiful, and are fascinating to learn about. The hands on the clock at city hall remain permanently fixed at 9:04:35 AM; stopped at the exact moment of the explosion.

This concept has probably been done a load of times before, but thought it would be a kind of fun idea do something with.
Also, I'm going travelling around Canada next week for a month, and I'm hoping to get some awesome concepts shot over there which I'm so excited for and can't wait to show you!

... clock in its original form
120 pictures in 2020/115 Ways to weigh or measure...
Normally, when we think of clocks, we think of time — seconds, minutes, hours. When we think of scales, we think of weight — ounces, grams, pounds. However, a new clock developed by physicists at the University of California, Berkeley is said to be the most fundamental clock ever created, combining a clock’s function with a scale’s, telling time in matter.
