I think that is how the old saying goes!
Alternative title - "How many birds does it take to change a light globe?"
Lots of rock doves and a lone silver gull thought the lighting rig on this Portland based fishing boat made a great perch. It didn't do much for the cleanliness of the light globes though!

A person might be an expert in any field of knowledge or a master of many material skills and accomplishments. But without inner cleanliness his brain is a desert waste.”

So, they thought we have too many insects which trouble us humans. The humans being the superior beings must have all the control and peace and cleanliness. What we did was to spray poison to kill them all. Yeah. Humans are the best.

The city of Oxnard is home to over 20 miles (32 km) of scenic, relatively uncrowded coastline. The beaches in Oxnard are large and the sand is exceptionally soft. The sand dunes in Oxnard, which were once much more extensive, have been used to recreate Middle-Eastern desert dunes in many movies, the first being The Sheik with Rudolph Valentino. There are very few rocks or driftwood piles at most beaches, but Oxnard is known to have dangerous rip-currents at certain beaches. Oxnard is home to world-class surf at most of its beaches.
Oxnard's Beaches extend for 5 miles along the city's oceanfront, from Mandalay Beach in the north to Silver Strand Beach in the south. The continuous stretch of sand is only interrupted by the mouth of Channel Islands Harbor. The beaches are known for their sunshine, mild surf, cleanliness and easy access.

The challenge of painting in watercolour is to preserve the transparency and cleanliness of the pigment, something that is not always achieved and only the great masters are able to find the exact point when applying layers of paint and different colours. And here, practising something like that. Looking at a great master like Juan Díaz

I prefer the cleanliness of this one, when compared with my first attempt.
I composed this image of St. George, Utah, while hiking in its Paradise Valley. St. George is one of my favorite small American cities. It features wide avenues,, cleanliness, beautiful surroundings and - in my experience - a relaxed and happy citizenry. Additional information about the history of St. George is provided below.
The Virgin River Anasazi were St. George’s earliest residents, inhabiting the area from approximately 200 B.C. to 1200 A.D. They left behind rock art and ruins of their dwellings.
The Pauite tribe arrived between 1100 and 1200 A.D., utilizing the area as a hunting ground for deer, rabbits and other animals. The Pauites also grew crops along the riverbeds, including corn, wheat and melons.
In 1776, the Dominguez-Escalante Party became the first recorded European-Americans to visit the area. Fur trappers and government survey parties followed.
In 1854, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as the LDS Church, or Mormon Church) established an Indian mission in Santa Clara, two miles northwest of present-day St. George. The church set up experimental farms in the St. George Valley in 1857-1858. In October 1861, church leaders called 309 families to establish the Cotton Mission. After the outbreak of the Civil War that same year, LDS Church President Brigham Young felt it necessary to grow cotton, if possible. Paying homage to the nickname of their former homes, these settlers called the region “Utah’s Dixie.”
St. George, Utah was named in honor of Mormon apostle George A. Smith, also known as the “Potato Saint” because he urged early settlers to eat raw, unpeeled potatoes to cure scurvy.
In 1871, work began on the St. George LDS Temple, which became a cooperative effort uniting many Southern Utah communities. Mormon Apostle Daniel H. Wells dedicated the temple on April 6, 1877. It was the first temple constructed west of the Mississippi River. The structure is the longest continuously operated Mormon Temple in the world.

Apparently this Red-shouldered hawk has never been taught the saying “Cleanliness is next to Godliness!” I don’t even want to know what that is hanging off its talon on its left foot!

People who require cleanliness are not likely to buy food here, Those who demand cleanliness will not buy food here, though the neighbourhood is in need of such a cheap market, at least no one has heard of anyone getting sick from eating food from such a market.
I have heard this phrase most of my life. Although it is not in the bible, many believe it was coined by John Wesley, the co-founder of Methodism, who often emphasized cleanliness in his preaching.
In this shot, a sea otter grooms and examines its…well…I have no idea what it is looking at or cleaning as I do not know if it is male of female. We just have to assume that it did a good job since it now has its nose in danger close proximity.

An imposing Victorian building that was once a charitable school to help ragged children is now a residential property. A poster on the walls says, “The Shaftsbury Society’s charitable union of The Mint and Gospel Lighthouse mission for the guidance of ragged children in matters of cleanliness, appearance and manners thus enabling them to take up a military career no matter how short.” An engraved stone on the building says, “To the glory of God this stone was laid by the right honourable Lord Mayor of London Sir William P Treloar November 13th, 1906.” (layersoflondon.com)
