And at last, finally my first ever Squirrel post, since moving to Storkow I have come to realise the level of wildlife that lives amongst the trees and fields here. The trees are so close to our balcony that the Squirrels often scurry along the roof edges and gutters in search of food people put out for them. This little fella was back and forth and seemed very curious about me, happened to have the Tamron already attached and got some good close ups. So, here to my first ever Squirrel shot!

I hope everyone is well and as always, thank you!

This plant is poisonous, toxic enough to cause human and animal fatalities if ingested. It has been used to commit murder, to achieve suicide, and to kill animals. Every part of the plant is poisonous

Birds of prey are fascinating and majestic animals. They can generally be defined as birds that feed on animals that they catch alive. Representatives of these two orders can be found almost everywhere in the world. Although these groups are distantly related, the behavioural and anatomical characteristics they share appear to be mainly the result of parallel evolution.

Last night we witnessed one of the most beautiful thunderstorms we've ever seen. It started with some distant lightning in pink (!), and when it approached our location, clouds were forming around the mountain tops like claws gripping hold of the earth...

Heliconia rostrata

The flowers hang in showy clusters that emerge from second year stalks. They are enclosed by scarlet and yellow colored bracts that are 6 to 8 inches long. This unique plant is used as a specimen for tropical gardens.

Squirrels have 4 claws on the front digits and 5 on their back, which makes it easier to climb down trees.

Impressive but nevertheless fearsome

while I was eating my food at the beach restaurant, this bird was flying around me looking for any leftovers ... it was fun to observe it and find out how smart he was to get what he wanted ...

I like the reflection on the table ... the picture itself wasn't a good quality that's why I decided to play with some effects ... enjoy it !

This mature Bald Eagle is a moment away from plucking a fish out of Kachemak Bay near Homer Alaska. It is amazing the watch their intense focus as they have to time it perfectly.

I spied this mature Bald Eagle after leaving Whitehorse, Canada, while driving our second car to Alaska from Maryland. The eagle landed on this stump and proceeded to work at it's claws, perhaps cleaning them, or working on something that hurt?

Since I won't be here next week I thought that I could upload a second picture. I took this one yesterday morning at the creek bank, where I was trying to get used to the longer focal length of the Cyclop. It is quite minimalistic, but I like the claw-shaped branch which looks like it is reaching out to grab some bokeh balls ;-) I hope you like it!

I was wandering around the shoreline near the old Dumbarton Bridge in Newark, California, capturing photons bouncing off driftwood when I found this; what looks like some kind of claw, maybe from a lobster or crab. Looked cool though.
