The Mercury Living Presence Collector's Edition, vol. 3
Truly one of my favorite classical album covers. Beautiful Tuscan styled illustration, perfectly befitting the music. Fine recordings, too. I wore out my copy of the Golden Imports LP (in fake stereo). This mono issue, mastered from the original tapes on the original tube electronics beats the LP by a wide margin.

There is something incredibly calming about listening to classical music. The worries about the world dissipate, for a time.

First CD release! Fennell is so popular among band-o-philes, it's hard to believe this wasn't issued sooner. The Hindemtih isn't the finest on record, but it's played with great gusto. The Schoenberg, however, may very well BE the finest on record. The Stravinsky does not really compete in a crowded field.
