This is above the side entrance to the building - such detail to a relatively minor part of the building.
The building is a magnificent post-Edwardian Classical structure; it was built between 1914-20, and designed by Sir Edwin Cooper.

It was dedicated to Hephaestus, the god of smiths and metal-workers.

I climbed atop one of the columns and from this spot I LEAPED onto Joel's back and rode him around like an Ostrich until he fell to the ground. I then began wailing away on his head. Then I took his gear bag and ran away. I came back five minutes later and said, "That was pretty funny, huh Joel?"
Courtyard adjacent to S. Andrea delle Fratte. Tower and campanile by Boromini. Designed by Gaspare Guerra beginning in 1604, revamped by Boromini in 1653. The Renaissance-style facade was completed in 1826.

Rendinghu Park, near Deshengmen Gate Beijing, contains several landscapes. The park originated in the 1950's and underwent considerable renovation in 2007. One of its fascinating features is the partially sunken pseudo-Grecian/Roman style gardens.
The Legation Quarter, located close to the former foreign leagtion district, has been developed from the 1903 United States compound.
