SNCB/NMBS class 12 electric loco at Antwerpen Centraal on 5 October 1991. This would have worked an InterCity (IC) service towards Gent and Kortrijk, some continuing on to Lille in France. 12 of these dual voltage locos similar in style to class 11s, 20s, 21s and 27s were built in 1986.

I was recently very pleased to buy this second hand static model. Its an 'Atlas Editions Locomotive Legends' model. Its mostly plastic on metal frames and stands on a wooden base. It appears to be HO scale.
The loco is an SNCB (Belgian State Railways) 12 class Atlantic (4-4-2). There were six of them built 1938-39 for hauling relatively lightweight boat trains between Ostend and Brussels, though they hauled other trains as well. They were withdrawn in 1962. Unusually they had inside cylinders but outside valve motion. One has been preserved. Thanks Wikipedia! These were the only European locomotives ever scheduled to run at 100 MPH - the 60 minute timing Brussels-Ostend, including one stop, required 100 MPH running to keep to time.
I think they looked fabulous!

SR 2BIL leaving Chichester with the 14.37 to Portsmouth Harbour. A class 12 is shunting on the left of the picture. Apologies for the orange spots - the penalty of mounting slides between glass! This is a rescan of the slide (30-11-09) but the orange blobs remain.
For what ever reason, this it the first NMBS/SNCB Class 12 electric loco I've ever managed to photograph. I think they're just not common along lines 25/27.
Here we see Class 12 loco number 1209 rounding the corner on the approach to the Nete bridge in Duffel. The train is making it's way towards Antwerp on line 27, it was probably on it's way to the harbor. You can't see it here, but this is actually a double-headed train. I didn't get a good look at the second loco but it looked similar to a NMBS/SNCB Class 13, but not on NMBS/SNCB livery, so it either belonged to a company from another country, or from one of the open access operators in Belgium itself.

At first glance this is just another 08 but it was built by the Southern Region under the direction of famous engineer OVS Bullied and even has his trademark 'boxpox' fabricated wheels
