Pac Man and Dual Flag SD40-2s with a SOO caboose cross over the Craw Fish River in Hubbleton, WI on their way westward into the Waterloo pits.
The Belt Line has a lot of Railroad equipment laying down Infront of their yard offices. Decided to try and incorporate it into my shot here. NS 5113 is seen sitting here with a CSX Tier four behind him waiting for action.
ACCA yard in Richmond, Virginia has been very busy the last couple of day. We see as the day dies down and the yard job is able to work the yard without any interference from mainline trains. 8254 is passing by the yard office with Y122 & L134 power sitting idle waiting for tomorrows trains.
I think its pretty clear that i was here for the 4419.. With YN2 fading every other day, YN2 on EMD engines is next to impossible to find. At the time of posting this there are only 9 EMD YN2 engines left on roster. 4 of which are in storage. 4419 is one of two GP40-2 left in serves on CSX with a nice, Clean YN2 coat of paint on display.
NS 811 rolls around the corner near the belt line diamond with a double up coal train with over 200 cars and 2 DPU's. I new the crew on bored this train and was able to get some waves from the crew today.
NS 273 finish's building his train in portlock and begins to crawl west out of portlock. 276 brought in some nice power this morning with a Union Pacific AC60CW, a Canadian National SD75I, and a rebuild Union Pacific AC44CW. i had a gut feeling that they were going to flip the power and immediately put it on a west bound witch prove to be right.
I would like to make it very clear, yes this is a NS road. I don't condone trespassing but I wanted to run down the road real quick to see this train. Trespass at your own risk and i don't think less of you if you do, but i recommend to not follow in my footsteps.
The result of Bensenville sending out an over 9000 foot train behind two SD40-2s… Two CP ES44ACs couple up to CP 6043 and train 247 at Elm Grove. The venerable EMDs stalled out on the hill here and required 541’s power to be pulled up the rest of the way.
two NS coal trains sit in Roanoke South yard with two C6M leaders. I guess the crew left the ditch light on #4046 because I came back the next morning and they were still on.
NV01 crawls out of portlock onto the Y with a brand new SD40 for the area #3457. The lone SD40 is seen here on Hoover Ave and approaches Carolina Junction. Really funny that NS just randomly gave this unit a admiral cab for no reason, wasn't even a highhood lol.
A Westbound CSX intermodal rolls through the crossing next to the station for Brunswick, Maryland. On the left is the old switch tower for the rail yard.
A CSX local begins to pull forward at Lee Hall with a couple of cars to shove back into the siding. Wasn't excepting to have a GP38-2s on this train.
My G Scale model of NS 1700 in Erie Lackawanna livery was just finished and had its first day on the rails in the backyard this afternoon.
86101 propelling 1Z90, the 12:03 Liverpool Lime Street to London Euston past the rapeseed fields at Dordon,
A NS highhood sits beside the Roanoke shops with a couple of grainers trailing Pretty crazy this guy still kicking around, what was even crazier was there was another highhood behind this one #5202.
NS 273 clears Yadkin with a D9-44CW leading a H2 SD70Mac. Never new if i was gonna be able to see one of these things, was super glad to see one in person.
Two Norfolk Southern SD40-2 work east end Portlock yard with a former NW engine trailing.
This is a pretty rare move for the area because these SD40's normally work Lamberts point, so to see them all the way down in Portlock was a surprise
Lead by NS 4402, this manifest freight grinds its way East toward Altoona passing trees that have turned colors for fall.
