Not sure of the age of this type of house on Prospect Heights but this one was clearly rendered useless simply by the horrid cladding.

Built in 1902-1903, this Gothic Revival-style limestone-clad building was designed by Clarence H. Johnston, Sr. to house the congregation of the St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church. The building features a central tower on the front facade inspired by English Gothic architecture, with a very rectangular form, a decorative front entry surround, a decorative large lancet window, and decorative louvers around the belfry. The building features a central high nave flanked by lower side aisles, each featuring a row of stained glass window with limestone trim. The rear of the building features a facade in the Tudor Revival style with stucco cladding and decorative half-timbering, and paired lancet stained glass windows with decorative surrounds and doric columns. The rear of the church saw the addition of a Parish House and educational wing in 1955, which somewhat mimics the Tudor Revival and Gothic Revival elements found elsewhere on the building, but stripped down and executed in buff brick and stucco with half-timbering. The church is a contributing structure in the Historic Hill District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
