I will throw the Pantheon up into the sky, said Michael Angelo, and he built the great dome of St. Peter's. He was in his seventy-second year when he was called by Paul III in 1546 to continue the task of building the new St. Peter's, and he labored at it till he died in 1564, at the age of eighty-nine. The vast pile was begun in 1450 and not completed until 1626.

The colossal temple cost $50,000,000. Its dome is a magnificent triumph. Apart from that, the architecture is the subject of constant criticism. The Gothic and classical ideals were struggling against each other during the period of its construction. It covers about six acres of ground. The dome reaches a height of 333 feet.

Iniwood Cladding

Developed in response to the growing popularity of mixed material building designs, Oakio Composite Cladding provides a warming design element to balance cold materials like metal and concrete.

Iniwood wall cladding is the ultimate solution for exterior. We capture the beauty and warmth of natural hardwoods, complete with subtle streaking, varied grain patterns and rich color palettes. Iniwood cladding doesn’t fade or degrade like wood, so the inspired aesthetic you envisioned will endure year after year.

Proshield Cladding

The beauty of wood meets composite technology. Oakio Proshield wood plastic composite cladding combines the beauty and warmth of wood with the durability of low-maintenance, high-performance composite materials.

Proshield composite cladding systems are an effective, eco-friendly way to manage moisture in the building envelope. A key element is durable cladding that deflects water and adds aesthetic appeal. Oakio Proshield composite cladding is the answer.

The cap is actually the same material of golf ball, the core is Iniwood materials. That is why Proshield is the second generation of Iniwood. More of the co extrusion decking in the market is made by PE for the cap only, which is not as stable as the Proshield cap.

Shrine: Saints Archangels Michael and Gabriel

Address: Village Petresti, Com. Corbeanca

On the left side of the DN1 at Km 21, there is the village of PetreÅŸti, a village that is part of the Corbeanca commune, Ilfov county.

The village in the north is bordered by the CociovaliÅŸtea stream, on the bank of which the Animal Research Institute is located.

In the courtyard of this institute, in the southern part, there is the church of PetreÅŸti village.

The church is built of brick, in the shape of a cross, covered with galvanized sheet metal, and was built from the ground up in 1820 by Scarlat and Bălaşa Petrescu "owners of the Petreşti estate", having the patron saint "Saints Archangels Michael and Gabriel".

In 1854, repairs were made by their son Alexandru and daughter-in-law Elena Petrescu.

In 1906, being in ruins, it was repaired again by their nephew Eugeniu Sătescu and his mother Ceciliaş, and painted in the fresco technique, the works finishing in 1909.

M.Simionescu Merei was the architect of the church, and Pr.V.Damian, painter.

In 1941, it was repaired by the last owner of the PetreÅŸti estate, Mr. Floricel Procopie Dumitrescu.

At the entrance it has a porch formed by round wall pillars, forming arches above supported on a wall parapet.

The painting is still preserved only on the walls and in some places in the vaults.

The wall cladding keeps the painting intact.

The tower of the nave is built of plastered and painted stone.

The church has five large windows (two in the pronaos, two in the naos and one in the altar) and a small one in the proscomidiar.

The entrance door is made of oak.

Above the door, inside, is written:

"With the help of the Holy Trinity, built from the ground up in the year of salvation 1820 by Scarlat and Bălaşa Petrescu, the owners of the Petreşti estate, this Holy and Divine place with the Temple of the Holy Angels".

During 1970, the exterior repair of the church began, with the persistence of the priest Ionescu N.Ioan and the contribution of the parishioners, and in the following years it was repaired inside through the efforts of the new priest Dinu Mihalcea from the Preoțeşti parish, Baloteşti commune, because from 15 April 1976, this church became the branch of the new Preoțesti parish established by the basis 6385/1976 of the Holy Archdiocese of Bucharest.

In 1995, the consolidation of this holy place began by the parish priest Bondar Simion, continuing with the plastering and painting of the tower.

Since 2001, the newly appointed parish priest Ioniţă Mircea continues the work by painting the nave, the porch and the altar, helped by the parishioners.

The church owns heritage objects.

In 2008, the PetreÅŸti Parish was re-established, and the priest Ciortan Constantin was appointed Parish Priest.
