De buitenbeplating van de sporthal wordt aangebracht. Bovenop, in een telescoophoogwerker, staat een man met elektrische schroevendraaier klaar. Onderaan tekent iemand af op het frame (vermoedelijk aluminium), terwijl een derde persoon toekijkt.

Even later pakt het duo beneden een lange smalle plaat op, en samen begeleiden ze het naar boven, waar het vervolgens vastgeschroefd wordt.

🇬🇧 Cladding is being installed on the exterior of the sports hall. At the top, a worker in a telescopic boom lift readies his electric screwdriver. Below, someone is marking the frame (likely aluminium), while a third person surveys the setup.

Moments later, the two on the ground lift a long, narrow panel and help guide it upward, where it’s secured by the man above.

The original name plaque on this house has been retained. It reads LOW HALL VILLA. This is quite a fine house, especially the upper window arches. The end wall retains the original brickwork as a conterbalance. Is that Stone clad surgery style extension really triangular? Fabulous.

Historical Marker, James J. Hill Mansion, Summit Avenue, Cathedral Hill, Saint Paul, MN by Warren LeMay

Built in 1891, this Richardsonian Romanesque-style brownstone-clad house was designed by Peabody, Stearns, and Furber, with additional input from Mark Fitzpatrick, to house the family of James J. Hill, founder of the Great Northern Railway. Previously residing in a section of Lowertown near the First Baptist Church, the Hill family moved to the more fashionable Summit Avenue as part of a larger migration of the city’s wealthy further from the downtown area during the late 19th Century. Hill purchased the land in 1882, and sourced design expertise and craftspeople from the East Coast to construct the mansion, which featured modern amenities and building systems. The interior of the house had a gallery for Hill’s large art collection, a pipe organ, and intricate woodwork in the primary spaces. Following the death of James J. Hill in 1916, his wife, Mary Hill, continued to live in the house until she died in 1921, and shortly thereafter the Hill’s children moved out. The house was purchased by four of the Hill’s daughters in 1925, and donated to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, whom had constructed a cathedral across the street, completed in 1915. The Archdiocese utilized the house as offices, residences for clergy, and as the home of a teacher's college for women, maintaining most of the interior spaces as they were when the Hill family lived there, but selling off most of the furnishings. The house was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1961, and was listed individually on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966 and listed as a contributing structure in the Historic Hill District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The house was acquired by the Minnesota Historical Society in 1978, undertaking a restoration and opening the house as a museum that is open to visitors for tours.

Yellow stones are a Tottenham speciality, but unfortunately not replicated in the wall. The brick effects just beneath the window lintel level on the upper floor are curious.
