CineStill 800T + Leica M6

This portrait of Arianne combines an overall cyan-green tone lit with strobes, with some light painting using a laser beam, all in a single take, shot in medium format film.

One of the reasons I like film is because of the nuances in how different stocks render colours. In this instance I was experimenting with Cinestill 800T, a beautiful tungsten-balanced film which (once I arguably miss-used by shooting it in daylight tones) gave me the cold hues I was after.

In the studio I could have probably done something similar with daylight film and cold-gelled strobes, but I think this is a promising test which may prove useful on location with ambient light.

To contrast the cold tones in the frame, we added a dash of reds and oranges on the make-up by the talented @byannabeauty alongside with streaks of light from a laser pointer.

I will post the breakdown of this image in a follow-up image, including how to point a laser pointer at a model in a safe way!
