COMPOSITE MOONRISE
There were no clouds for sunset but I shot this way anyway thinking I can use it later for a cinemagraph. But this works too! The moon actually rose from the opposite end.

12/24/99 Very intriguing, are you just sharing this description, of a picture which we cannot see,for Mankind’s general advancement, or just my own? Either way please gives me some more, you are very insightful!
"The dwellings that house the Beavertail Lighthouse Museum were built in 1856 (Keeper House and Tower) and (Assistant Keeper House) built in 1898 to help maintain both the beacon and foghorn systems. The first floors of both buildings are now used to exhibit artifacts and story boards. Included is a small theater, interactive video displays and a gift shop. Another building, the former Oil Storage building in the rear of the keeper buildings also houses museum story boards.
The last of the larger fog signaling buildings, using steam whistles was destroyed in the 1938 hurricane. The subsequent removal of building and equipment debris revealed the remains of the 1749 stone foundation of the first light tower sited at Beavertail. It was the 3rd lighthouse built in America. This foundation was recently restored. The destroyed foghorn building was replaced by the current, smaller fog-signal house along with its two fog horn system generators and compressors, that presently houses the RI Department of Environmental Management’s(RIDEM) aquarium. Adjacent to the 1749 foundation, remains another smaller stone foundation of Beavertail's Fog Bell. Beavertail Light station was the first in America to use a bell to warn mariners. The bell was actuated by a wind up mechanism.
In 1972 both the light in the tower and the fog signal were automated by the U.S. Coast Guard and Keepers were no longer required. The buildings were abandoned and remained vacant until the RIDEM, Town of Jamestown and later the BLMA recognized the need to preserve the historic buildings and provide an educational venue for the public .
Restoration of both keepers’ houses began in 1983, and the museum opened in 1989 as a part of the RI State Parks Association. The non-profit Beavertail Lighthouse Museum Association (BLMA) was organized in 1993 by a dedicated group of docents, some of whom still serve the all-volunteer association today in all its endeavors to preserve the site and the building for future generations.
The Light Station and buildings inside the perimeter wooden fence belong to the U.S. Coast Guard. Both the light and fog signal are active navigation aids and maintained by them. RIDEM under licence with USCG in turn delegates BLMA to maintain the grounds, buildings and museum under a Memorandum Of Understanding."

A cinemagraph I created in the traditional sense, but added a still image over, then converted from a GIF to a movie to add music. Song: "Karma Tattoo" by Chet Hanx.

Of women and women’s bodies
And the digital means by which women
Are controlled by men
And the algorithms of social media and the Internet
A paradox of one-way censorship and self-censorship

Just started my 100 Strangers project. 100 Strangers Flickr Group page
This portrait and project was inspired by the recent HKPC photo outing - 5 strangers. We had to approach 5 strangers and ask them if we could take their picture. We also had to ask for their name and for a bit of their life story.
This fellows name is Chris, from his accent I could guess he was French. He was standing having a cigarette with his girlfriend when i saw him an knew that I had to get his picture. This was my first portrait of the day and we had been at this spot for no more than 3 minutes when i went over and asked him. He kind of looked at me funny and asked 'Why?. So i told him about the project, briefly, and then he agreed. I didn't even ask him to pose, i think he just knew this is what i wanted him to be doing. I gave him my Moo card and then asked his girlfriend if she would like a picture too, she was startled, mumbled something like 'no no no i have no makeup', turned on her heel and walked away...with Chris following quickly behind.

By the way, I was on Benjamin's computer yesterday and I looked through my stream. I realised that on the massive screen the editing and highlights look completely different to how they look on my screen. Now I'm a little paranoid about my edits so I'll just be really minimal, just in case. I'm thinking of investing in an iMac sometime after I get my D7000 so I can edit video and all that a lot better. Particularly when I get into moving images and cinemagraphs.
there's emptiness behind their eyes, there's dust in all their hearts
they just want to steal us all and take us all apart

Thousands of people gathered in England on Sept. 01, 2015, for a unique, competition that would make Paul Jaisini proud. The Gleitzeit Flower Parade, a very unique competition of giant flowery floats. This year, 9 floats each paid tribute to Paul Jaisini.
“Art is not what it is – its what its not . Art- just a word . Great art its like hypnotism, that stays with u forever… take it from me- artist who overcame Visual Art. Invisible seems … Paul Jaisini”

Shot this at Patricia Beach, just outside of Winnipeg on Canada Day long weekend with my Panasonic GH2, and the 25mm Voigtlander f/0.95 lens, ISO100. Rather than take a bunch of stills, I've found it makes a lot more sense to take a bunch of video and piece together the cinemagraph from that. Doing it that way allows for some happy accidents like the bird flying overhead. That happened at a much later part of the shot, but I just comped in that one frame where I wanted it.
All of the tutorials I see online recommend you use Photoshop to make these Cinemagraphs, but that seems like the wrong tool for the job... I used Adobe After Effects, since It's built for manipulating video. It's much easier to make things loop properly since you can cross fade the layers over time, and make non-destructive adjustments to your masking which allows for a lot more experimentation and refinement. I did use Photoshop for the final export to an animated GIF, but other than that, it was totally assembled in After Effects.
for a tutorial on how I made this, check out this link:

Quick shot before I start my biology lab report. Oh, and here's supermodel Coco Rocha in another cinemagraph by the same artist/fashion designer I mentioned the other day, Jamie Beck. I am so terribly excited to shoot my own one day.
So just letting you guys know, I have stopped my 52 week project. But I have decided that my main focus right now is working on cinemagraphs, or animated gifs. I want to study cinemaphotography in college so I want to start working on those for my portfolio because I have enough photos. Haha. So I am going to post one of those every week instead of a photograph. I can not share them with you guys on Flickr. But you can view them at my tumblr myhollowmind.tumblr.com/ or on my website alaynajay.com So I hope you guys check them out sometime.

(06/12) Proyecto C·O·N·E·X·I·Ó·N
www.facebook.com/gadirphotography/videos
Guiomar además es una gran fotógrafa, tiene talento y sensibilidad, así que os dejo su trabajo por aquí para que también lo podáis disfrutar.
