Not exactly sure where this came from but really have no use for it. It is shaped like a globe that pulls open from the top. It would have at one time contained cigarettes in each of the sleeves.

There are certainly far fewer 'analogue' smokers on the streets of Glasgow these days, replaced and augmented by vapers.

The old man sitting has a grocery shop deep in the alley, whose sign can be seen in the photo. When the weather is nice, the old man sets up his cigarette stand on the street at the entrance to the alley. The young man behind the old man looks to be his junior and is giving the old man a back rub; the old man standing on the right is their neighbour.
Commercially manufactured cigarettes are seemingly simple objects consisting mainly of a tobacco blend, paper, PVA glue to bond the outer layer of paper together, and often also a cellulose acetate–based filter. While the assembly of cigarettes is straightforward, much focus is given to the creation of each of the components, in particular the tobacco blend, which may contain over 100 ingredients, many of them flavourants for the tobacco. A key ingredient that makes cigarettes more addictive is the inclusion of reconstituted tobacco, which has additives to make nicotine more volatile as the cigarette burns.
