This is the cover photo of my set SAILAN

The village of Shailan is located about 40 kilometers north west of Dhaka under Dhamrai upazilla. The village consists of about 200 households with a population of about 1500. Throughout the year Shailan is accessible by road and when the rivers swell during rainy season one can travel by boat as well.

Shailan in essence is like any other village of Bangladesh. It has a mosque built around 1930, a primary school established in 1904 and a High School set up in 1974. But looking just below the surface, one discovers that like all villages, it has its own unique character as well, a personality and charm that sets it apart from the rest. The following photographs is a montage of the life of a village called Shailan.

Bangladesh, a land of cultural festivals, always celebrates each and every colorful distinctiveness of the nature. Each of the seasons has its own way of representing the nature here in Bangladesh. The spring (Bashanta) is celebrated in colorful programs all over the country. One such festival is the Kite Flying festival, which is a common phenomenon all over the world, celebrated in different names. Kite flying festival in Asia has the oldest history which gathers people from different religions and classes to celebrate nature’s liveliness after the harshness of winter. In spring, the sky remains clear and also the gentle bridge helps to fly the kite quite nicely than any other time of the year.

Kite flying, an oldest traditional festivities dating back to Mughal Era, gathers a huge crowd at different places of the country. The most colorful and enthusiastic festival is held at Old Dhaka. People of Shakharipatti, Tatibazar, Lokkhibazar of the city celebrates the day with lots of courage and enthusiasm. Thousands of kites cover the sky of the city with colorful drapes. People of the mentioned places prepare delicious foods to entertain the guests. People of all ages go to the roof of their residential place to fly kites starting from the midday. Thousands of people including young ladies can be seen on the roofs depicting a fine composition of the festival. Some people also arrange musical system on the roof, which plays popular tracks loudly giving the festival a rhythmic backbone.

Most attractive part of the festival takes place when the sun set begins. Some people put characin into their mouth and blows fire with that liquid. Though the task is quite dangerous, it brings an illuminating effect all around the place.

The kite flying festival is usually held from January to February. It really welcomes the spring in a vivacious way.

this is a Kind a Back water , but they do not come for sea, usually this is a Bill { in Bangoli} may call them shallow water too,

Usually during monsoon they come form nearby River, these water are from Padma river, and they start disappearing from Nov , and by January , this will be again good for cultivation, We have a lot o vegetable and rice cultivation in this area,

Last yr our government wanted to maki this a International air port, but pubic defuse the aim, b coz 1000s of family's are living form fishing during monsoon and paddy growth during winter and summer, and they are almost hands to mouth,

In these area , THE TREE you saw, called Hejol tree, It has a wonderful Flowers may see them here

But these trees at this time is very risky for poisonous snakes living there as the area is inundated so snakes live here,

Another Interesting matter you may Notice, This Bill area has a lot of deep ponds which are a trap for fishing, These days the ponds are under water and those big fish will take shelter in those ponds, and when the water starts moving out, the owner will trap the fish form those pond, Locally those ponds are called DANGA

For Hindus, Diwali is one of the most important festivals of the year and is celebrated in families by performing traditional activities together in their homes. For Jains, Diwali marks the attainment of moksha or nirvana by Mahavira in 527 BC.[1][2]

Deepavali is an official holiday in India,[3] Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Mauritius, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Malaysia, Singapore,[4] and Fiji.

The name "Diwali" is a contraction of "Deepavali" (Sanskrit: दीपावली Dīpāvalī), which translates into "row of lamps".[5] Diwali involves the lighting of small clay lamps (diyas or dīpas) in Sanskrit: दीप) filled with oil to signify the triumph of good over evil. During Diwali, all the celebrants wear new clothes and share sweets and snacks with family members and friends.

The festival starts with Dhanteras on which most Indian business communities begin their financial year. The second day of the festival, Naraka Chaturdasi, marks the vanquishing of the demon Naraka by Lord Krishna and his wife Satyabhama. Amavasya, the third day of Deepawali, marks the worship of Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth in her most benevolent mood, fulfilling the wishes of her devotees. Amavasya also tells the story of Lord Vishnu, who in his dwarf incarnation vanquished the Bali, and banished him to Patala. It is on the fourth day of Deepawali, Kartika Shudda Padyami, that Bali went to patala and took the reins of his new kingdom in there. The fifth day is referred to as Yama Dvitiya (also called Bhai Dooj), and on this day sisters invite their brothers to their homes.

Muharram (Arabic: المحرّم) is the first month of the Islamic calendar. It is one of the four sacred months of the year in which fighting is prohibited.[1] Since the Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar, Muharram moves from year to year when compared with the Gregorian calendar.

Muharram is so called because it is unlawful to fight during this month, the word is derived from the word haraam, meaning "forbidden". It is held to be the most sacred of all the months, excluding Ramadan. Some Muslims fast during these days. The tenth day of Muharram is the Day of Ashura, which to Shia Muslims is part of the Mourning of Muharram.

Many Sunni Muslims fast during this day, because Musa (Moses) and his people obtained a victory over the Egyptian Pharaoh on the 10th day of Muharram;[citation needed] according to them Islamic prophet Muhammad asked Muslims to fast on this day, and also a day extra either before or after, so that they are not similar to Jews (since, according to him, Jews used to fast for one day due to the same reason)A lot of Muslims cook something sweet like sweet rice and contribute them in between their family and friends. They eat this when they are done breaking their fast.

Fasting differs among the Muslim groupings; mainstream Shia Muslims stop eating and drinking during sunlight hours and do not eat until late afternoon. Sunni Muslims also fast during Muharram for the first ten days of Muharram, just the tenth day or on both the ninth and tenth days; the exact term depending on the individual. Shia Muslims do so to replicate the sufferings of Hussein ibn Ali on the Day of Ashura. Shia Muslims, go further in their attempts of replication, including self-flagellation (also see Matam).

MAHARRAM and AUSHURA

Muharram is a month of remembrance that is often considered synonymous with the event of Ashura. Ashura, which literally means the "Tenth" in Arabic, refers to the tenth day of Muharram. It is well-known because of historical significance and mourning for the martyrdom of Hussein ibn Ali, the grandson of Muhammad.[2]

Shias start the mourning from the 1st night of Muharram and continue for two months and eight days. However the last days are the most important since these were the days where Hussein and his family and followers (consisting of 72 people, including women, children and aged people) were killed by army of Yazid I at the Battle of Karbala on his orders, Surviving members of the family of Hussein and that of his followers were taken captive and marched to Damascus and imprisoned there.

Muharram is also observed by Dawoodi Bohras in the same way as Shias.They practice prayers on the sayings of the present dawah of Bohras, Mohammed Burhanuddin. On the tenth day of Muharrum, they pray for Hussein till the magrib namaz. When the namaz ends, Hussein is considered shahid by Yazid. It is also close to the day of resurrection because it said in a book that this world will one day come to an end on Friday 10th of Muharram.[citation needed]

With the sighting of the new moon the Islamic New Year is ushered in. The first month, Muharram is one of the four sacred months that God has mentioned in the Quran.

I was Suffering form a minor problem of unable to cut my toenail , later it turned in to infection, and now need a surgical extraction of my toenail , The surgeon call this as Ingrown Toenails

And Also Look for Ingrown nail

Lets Know a bit abt some information of this Ingrown toenail here :

Ingrown toenail is a common problem resulting from various etiologies including improperly trimmed nails, hyperhidrosis, and poorly fitting shoes. Patients commonly present with pain in the affected nail but with progression, drainage, infection, and difficulty walking occur. Excision of the lateral nail plate combined with lateral matricectomy is thought to provide the best chance for eradication. The lateral aspect of the nail plate is removed with preservation of the remaining healthy nail plate. Electrocautery ablation is then used to destroy the exposed nail-forming matrix, creating a new lateral nail fold. Complications of the procedure include regrowth of a nail spicule secondary to incomplete matricectomy and postoperative nail bed infection. When performed correctly, the procedure produces the greatest success in the treatment of ingrown nails. Basic soft tissue surgery and electrosurgery experience are prerequisites for learning the technique.

Ingrown toenail, or onychocryptosis, is a commonly encountered problem in family practice. Patients usually present with pain in the affected nail but with progression, drainage, infection, and difficulty walking occur. Most patients present with ingrown toenail during the second and third decades of life, but teenagers often develop ingrown toenails after tearing the corners of their toenails.

Possible causes of ingrown toenails include improperly trimmed nails, hyperhidrosis, poorly fitting footwear, trauma, subungual neoplasms, obesity, or excessive external pressure. These alterations cause the nail to improperly fit into the lateral nail groove, producing edema and inflammation of the lateral nail fold.

Stage 1 ingrown toenails are characterized by erythema, slight edema, and pain with pressure to the lateral nail fold. Stage 2 is marked by increased symptoms, drainage, and infection. Stage 3 ingrown toenails display magnified symptoms, granulation tissue, and lateral nail-fold hypertrophy.

Many physicians advocate conservative management for stage 1 ingrown toenails, including warm soaks, cotton-wick elevation of the affected nail corner, or antibiotic therapy in the presence of infection (Table 1). Simple, partial nail avulsion has been tried for stage 2 nails but is successful in eradicating the condition in only 30 percent of patients. Stage 3 ingrown toenails can develop from a laterally pointing spicule of nail beneath the nail fold. Excision of the lateral nail plate combined with lateral matricectomy is believed to provide the best chance for eradication. In the treatment of stage 3 toenails, the associated granulation tissue and lateral wall hypertrophy also should be removed.

I was a Patient of Heart daises MI, and I have a Stinting done in Dec 2009.

Now doctor asked me to do the following Pathological test before the procedure

4.Glaycated Haremoglobin [HBAIC]

5.Urine Anslysis R/M/E

6.X-Ray Chest –P/A View [Digital]

7.ECG-12 Lead

What a Pain , just a small Nail can cause so much of risk , never know it, I post all these information and Link attached to read viewers and learn abt this , As a Parents

For A Better Out Put to this Image the Treatment for this Photo demands original size with Black view for the details and see the distance of the tripod and the Mobile placed on the ground, , Plz Press L for Black View

This is a Camera with a Tripod and other two friend standing beside and Observing the night shot I was trying to capture, while taking other shot I I saw this Image but I had problem of light source for focusing fro this image as it was a full dark night ,

Then I asked my friend to leave a Mobile hand set On!!! at the middle ground, and took the focus from the mobile set, although the mobile looks like the flash just at the tip of the camera but its at least 20 yards far for camera . I really Enjoy such venture with my lens and Tripod at dark night , while my visit to Raj Surath Village of DIGOMBAR , HOBIGONJ in 24-25th Dec 2010.
