Macro Mondays

Stick - Chopsticks

Yep, chopsticks 😊

-- for the Macro Mondays challenge "stick"

Great egret and some kind of baby flatfish, Morro Bay, California.

Gifted. From My son’s girlfriend. This is a chopstick aid for children. I’m 59.

At “The Bund”. A well-known Chinese restaurant in Downtown Sydney. I figured we was in for some good grub when I saw how luxuriant these chopsticks were, and BTW, the food here in Australia would put American food to shame, jack! There. I said it!

Today the girls are learning to play "Chopsticks" at the piano.

Macro Mondays ~ Paper Art

My prop is a paper sleeve to hold chopsticks. The background is the decorative green 'grass' from my sushi container (also paper).

Happy Belated HMM to All!

A rather nice lightning storm this evening shot along with the Jersey City cityscape, New York City (NYC) in the background, and the Hudson River between the two cities.

Most of the hill is occupied by this temple. It was quite the climb to the top!

I'm not quite talented enough to use proper chopsticks properly, so Santa left these in my stocking several years ago. They came in handy at lunch today.

I saw these cute training chopsticks at Hana Sushi.

Strobist Info - I used 2 SB-800s triggered by an SU-800 mounted on my Nikon D3. One SB-800 was to the top right and set to -0.7 EV tilted up with the diffuser and the second SB-800 to the left of the first set to 0 EV bare with the bounce card up. Both were triggered remotely in TTL mode using the Nikon Creative Lighting System (CLS).

A pair of cheerios lifted out of a bowl of milk by the tips of a pair of chopsticks...one of them broken.

Shot with an old Nikon Series-E 50mm lens reverse-mounted on Nikon D7200

A pair of inexpensive speedlight-clones was used to light this subject. One at 1/64 power, few inches from the top and left of the subject, and pointing at the subject. It was triggered by on-camera flash in commander mode. Light from the flash was diffused through a sheet of tracking paper. Another flash, also at 1/128 power and in slave mode, few inches below the subject and pointing at the background, was triggered by the first flash.

Ok, who stole the other chopstick?

I took this just as the sun was setting behind Chopstick Hill in Hua Hin.
