Then we went to the Lincoln Park Zoo...

Set description: I had a blast showing Sean Parker

around Chicago as he ended a 2-week long raod trip up famed Route 66.

Sean was traveling the route with Joel Schat to document their travels via time-lapse. While Joel continued onto Indianapolis to shoot the Indy 500, Sean and I hit the streets, balconies, and roofs of Chicago to get as many time-lapsable scenes we could fit in during his brief visit.

Together, they are creating a documentary for Roadtrippers with some great film & time-lapse sequences detailing their stops along the way. To see more photos from their trip and get updates on the documentary’s progress go here >> #TravelRoute66

I could use an herb wall...

Amy and I checked out Chicago Gourmet on a beautifully blue Sunday. While we were busy eating and drinking for a majority of the time I did take a few shots. Warning: soime are quite touristy.

Creativity abounds at the MCA. Artwork pictured is by Lee Bontecou who uses welded steel, canvas, epoxy, leather, and wire, to create stunning 3D works of art.

Set Description: My first visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art...As much as I enjoyed the exhibits, I was even more so enthralled with the architecture within the MCA itself.

Hit up my rooftop for a beautiful sunset. I experimented with some massive telephoto panoramas, and caught fireworks too!

Don't get me wrong - I love my camera, but sometimes the iPhone can churn out some stunning images instantly.

This is a collection of some of the panoramas I've made with my iPhone in and around Chicago using the app Autostitch Panorama and later processed in Adobe Lightroom. They're not all perfect, but for a $1 piece of software, they're pretty darn good - Hope you enjoy!

I've been playing around with Google Earth a lot latey in an attempt to better envision/research architectural settings I plan on photographing.

This evening I'll be shooting a unit on Trump Tower's 83rd floor, and wanted to get an idea of the view at the time of day I'll be shooting (Between 5-6pm).

Then I had the idea to pan around the 3d Google Earth world and take screengrabs to s stitch them together into this faux panorama. Pretty cool.

First snowy shot of the day looking down Lexington Street at approximately 2:30.

Set Description: On Tuesday, Chicago was treated to it's largest snowstorm since the Groundhog Day blizzard of 2011.

I bundled up and went out into the elements for a few hours at night to photograph the action on and around Michigan Avenue.

While the temperature was somewhat comfortable, the shooting conditions were brutal. Visibility was low and working the camera in torrential snow has it's challenges. Despite the difficulties I managed to get some cool shots.

Now that we got a snowstorm out of the way, bring on the spring thunderstorms!
