So, I was biting down on a delicious piece of Trader Joe's garlic naan, when I suddenly heard a sickening *CRUNCH* and felt most of the front of my tooth crumble away.
Wish me luck getting the dentist to see me tomorrow. This kinda hurts!
Imagine a day where I didn't contribute to the 365 project, with over 3200 days on my belt that's almost what I did on Friday. I awoke Saturday morning realizing that I hadn't taken any photos on my Fuji OR Canon. I panic'd but then remembered that I took a silly selfie on a coworkers phone. With a little Instagram edit, and a little Photoshop I was able to pull through and have a photo for Friday. Even more reason to smile!

I usually only allow myself one hold the camera out and shot photo a week - but this week I had two Fridays so I allowed it. My counterpart is under the weather, so I filled in. Hope she is feeling better so I don't have another Friday!
Here is my second grand daughter. If you will look closely, one of her front teeth is chipped caused when she fell down the stairs.

I posted a photo of Julia during the week we met at the meditation retreat this year. Now here's a photo of me taken by her. We made a date to meditate then afterwards walked over from the meditation center to Whole Foods for sandwiches and smoothies. I'm thinking I look pretty good for my age. I don't care if that's narcissistic. If I look happy in this photo it's because I am, especially when I'm hanging out with great friends like Julia.

Spent the morning in the emergency room after a forehead-to-mouth collision during my football game. Just three plays into the game and I go down spitting out blood and apparently half a tooth.
Tooth broken at tennis. And there's almost no indication of trouble on the racquet, the real culprit! But fixed days later. See the next photo.
Patient was unhappy with the chipped front tooth. His chipped tooth was reshaped with composite bonding.

Emergency room at UCSF after being suckerpunched on the street. Didn't see it coming, didn't see it going, have no idea but I don't suspect any sort of why. Sat around for hours waiitng for a doctor until I finally got the admitting nurse to give me a tetanus shot so I could go home. They couldn't do anything about the tooth.

Important Causes of Chipped Tooth. Chipped tooth causes can be many things- from an injury to teeth grinding at night. However, the most common cause of a chipped tooth is actually biting into something hard. Whether you were eating an apple or biting your nails, if you accidentally hit your tooth on something hard, it can chip. And once your tooth chips, you're at a high risk for further damage and even infection.
That's why it's so important to take care of your teeth and to see a dentist if you think you may have a problem. Dentists can help fix your chipped tooth and prevent further damage. So don't wait- if you've got a chipped tooth, make an appointment with your dentist today!
This close-up image shows a chip in the zirconium of the arch after 5 months. When I brought this to the clinic's attention, their exact reply was that "the dentist and technician said it won't cause you any problem for function and you can keep using your prothesis.
This album contains raw, unedited photos that serve as a warning to anyone considering dental tourism for Turkey teeth. The work performed, specifically my all-on-6 full arch dental treatment fell far below what I expected and what I believe to be acceptable standards of care.
You will find visual evidence of: A significant 2.5mm to 3mm midline deviation, which is a severe aesthetic and functional failure.
A large chip in the zirconium of the prosthesis, which the clinic dismissed as "not a problem for function."
An unaddressed and obvious color mismatch between the top and bottom arches.
The treatment fell far below expected standards and amounted to what I consider unacceptable dental work and highlights the very real risks associated with what I believe to be poorly executed dental work abroad. My goal is to share this experience and the evidence to help others avoid a similar dental disaster.
This review reflects my personal experience and opinions only. It is not intended to defame Clinic Prime Istanbul or its staff. For official complaints, contact the Turkish Dental Association or Turkish Ministry of Health."
