Chimping is a colloquial term used in digital photography to describe the habit of checking every photo on the camera display (LCD) immediately after capture.

Abandoned since 1998, Penscynor Wildlife Park is one of the few abandoned zoos in the world, that still exists in its entirety, albeit without the animals. The photographs concentrate on documenting the zoo as it is today, and showcases the effects that nature and the ravages of time has had on the former wildlife park.
These photographs, taken in April 2012, showcase the park as it stands today.
Inspiration for some of the framing of the shots came from the 1975 New Topographics exhibition.
Female Chimp
Our main goal for this safari was to see Chimps in the wild. Nomad's Greystoke Camp on the edge of Lake Tanganyika certainly did not disappoint delivering 3 morning treks all will fun filled chimp encounters with the habituated M Group. The guiding here is exceptional as is the camp itself.
Mahale Mountains National Park lies on the shores of Lake Tanganyika in Kigoma Region, Tanzania. Named after the Mahale Mountains range that is within its borders, the park has several unusual characteristics. First, it is one of only two protected areas for chimpanzees in the country. (The other is nearby Gombe Stream National Park made famous by the researcher Jane Goodall.) The chimpanzee population in Mahale Mountains National Park is the largest known and due to its size and remoteness, the chimpanzees flourish. It is one of the very few parks in Africa that must be experienced by foot. There are no roads or other infrastructure within the park boundaries, and the only way in and out of the park is via boat on the lake.
This little guy was found at the chimp research centre that Jane Goodall set up in the '60's. He's quite a little rascal and when we visited in Oct 2019, he had a 1 month old baby brother. Like most toddlers, he wasn't happy!
a mini break from pola week ;)
took this yesterday and was maybe going to use it for wordless.. but i already posted one.. and i just couldn't not talk about this one... don't you love that you can see these two chimping???
such a hysterical term. heard it first here on flickr.... from bats i think ;) and now joe accuses me of that all the time. ha ha!
anywho. was driving home with the little dude yesterday. the sunset and beach was just gorgeous! didn't have my tripod so i used the dash in my car. was kinda fun. went back there today.. but of course.. as luck would have it.. it was not nearly as warm and lovely out.
Another shot taken at Monkey World near Wareham in Dorset. This guy was considerate enough to sit still and have a wee think to himself while I took his picture.
Edit: This 'guy' is called Carli. Thanks [http://www.flickr.com/photos/chimp_amy].
We had a lovely day at Twycross Zoo today with lots of HPADers and their children. E had a great time and is absolutely exhausted. She slept all the way home - I was worried she wouldn't want to go to bed - but she was desperate to go to sleep again.
Wonderful to see you all! More photos to follow tomorrow when I've sorted them all out.
