A hornet chewing som old wood.... pretty fearsome!

A man chews betel nut (buai in Tok Pisin) with lime (kabang) and "betel pepper" (daka).

Parker is teething. He has been for a long time. He must have finally had enough with the usual teething rings. At nap time he just wasn't going to sleep, so we went up to check on him. There were tons of splinters in his bed, he had shredded many of the crib bars, and he of course had a mouth full of wood. Our only solution thus far has been to tie multiple blankets around the bars. It looks terrible but it has worked so far.

Our child is part beaver.

Ozzy loves the bully stick I bought him the other day. i will have to buy a few more. It keeps him busy, he best a bit of chewing exercise. He can't go out in the heat, so this is the next best thing. (Though I'm sure Ozzy would think this is much better than walking outside. LOL!)

We arrived just as a working party had almost finished cutting back willow scrub and reedbeds-for the first time in 20yrs they said. So it all looked a bit bare and barren-But I found this lone tree had escaped the chainsaws, and formed a lovely silhouette aganst the low January sun.
