This lens has no image stabilisation so I set a fast shutter speed (perhaps too high), also a good way to test the reported high iso capabilities of the camera.
daily chess tournament where you play 2 games against 1 ... As you know, symmetry in Chess is part of the game
Hong Kong government invoked the emergency law to ban the mask wearing by protesters and this has made more people going on streets for protests yesterday 4 October.
In the night 4 October, a 14-year old young man was injured by off-duty police officer with real gun shot. The police officer was seen driving a car and ran into a crowd of citizens. There was a fight between the officer and people.
This is already the second real gun shot fired by police and injured the protesters. Police has escalated on the force and many human rights organizations have criticised on this.
The 14 year old young man is actually not the youngest person in protesters. Before this, there is a 12 year old protester arrested. In this pro-democracy movement, the participation of young people is significant and key characteristic. About 30% of the protesters are coming from age group below 24.
I saw the young players in the Chinese chess competition in my local shopping mall.
The young people are great players, They are selfless and they fight for the future of Hong Kong. Many adult Hong Kong citizens felt they owe them so much since they have not acted on it for many years and let the situation deteriorates after 1997.

Was out with the camera documenting a market when I noticed a park so went over to sit out of the hot sun. I saw a few older people playing chess and other board games so started to photograph them. I stayed there for a few hours. The lights came on when it started to get dark so took more shots. The guy in this particular photo was supposed to be a master at chess and he concentrated like this for a couple of minutes when thinking his next move. Of course I was quiet with the camera so not to disturb him. I also watched as he took it extremely serious. It was lovely to see these people out in the evening enjoying themselves

Nikon F65. An Ilford film, but I can't remember if it was Pan F Plus 50, Delta 100, or FP4 Plus 125 film but I know it was an Ilford film as their films were the only B&Ws I shot at this time.

It seems that the gravity of my soul gets pulled into Washington Square Park, whether I am photographing or relaxing and absorbing its great vibe. I take most of my NYC images there, and I feel that because of it, I neglect many other of the city's amazing areas.
free check mates! Chess players better watch out for this killer! Great opponent on the venice beach boardwalk.
