My manual search using my database returned 5 games on the PC.
The same search on the iPad returned an extra game. Not bad. Also, chessbase says it updates this online database every week so no more manual work in going to TWIC to download and update Megabase.
Of course the downside is you need to be connected for the search to work. Not a problem for me as my iPad has 3G so I am online all the time when I am in the Klang Valley.
Been mulling whether to buy this Chessbase app for the iPad. The big plus is that I will have access to Chessbase huge 5 million games on the iPad. No need to carry around Megabase and my heavy 15" Dell notebook.
The minus is I cannot export the games out via email or cut and paste. Meaning I can't share out the games like what I did for Lim Zhuo Ren's opponent somewhere in my past post.
Decided to go ahead and get it anyway because I keep hearing Jimmy Liew's voice making fun of me being a cheapskate. :) He is right by the way. The app cost RM 15. That's less than the cost of my dinner last night.

I only paid for the iPad version of "ChessBase Online" but I was surprised when I woke up this morning with another version of it already downloaded on my iPod touch. 5 million games in my pocket!
Just in time for DATMO when I can show off by saying " you playing so and so? here are all his games on my iPod. See."
But seriously. Such a tool it's not really useful to a patzer like me. It's more suited for more serious players. :)
