Yeah, winter is settling in right now, but it will actually only be 2-3 months before the cherry trees start to bloom...

Some of the very large and very tasty cherries that we got this year--check out the size of these! I think these were Rainiers, although the last box were Bings. Grown here in Oregon.

My version of the ever-popular cherry blossom cake. After much online searching I was most drawn to the ones by smallthingsiced. Thanks for the inspiration (and I gather STI was inspired by someone else... ah the cycle of flickr life...)

seems the cherry blossom are a little late this year, but it's lovely to finally see them in bloom

It is Spring time so I think I should post some blossoms. Last Sunday was a beautiful warm day, perfect for going to visit the orchard area of the netherlands, the Betuwe. Cherries and pears were blooming, but I was actually hoping for apples. Still a bit too early.

The former central school for Cherry Valley, NY that now serves as senior housing, the post office, and other municipal offices.

These cherry tomatos look like a box of Christmas blubs with this Polaroid effect.

They looked yummy, but who knows if they're safe to eat?
