Okey-dokey. I have about 146 sheets of Velvia 50 sheet film (4x5) in the freezer now. I will be going through them at a rapid pace :-)
The cherries are going strong in select areas now. I have a feeling it's going to peak in the next week or so.
One of the aspects of New Zealand I'm most enjoying is the variety of local fruit (and veg) on offer. Almost all the fruit on the supermarket shelves is NZ grown - from apples to mangoes. These were the first cherries I'd seen, and even from the skanky supermarket (we generally buy our fruit/veg/meat from the posh one) they were absolutely delicious - easily on a par with the M&S ones at home.

This is a heavily edited cherry blossom tree outside of the science block of my old secondary school - there's not much else to say really.

A 5-year old girl at the home with the hot pink phlox offered to show me things to photograph. As she came to different photo ops, she would ask, “ Do you want to take a picture of…”. That’s how I came upon these cherries. I photographed everything she offered…a rock, her holding a daisy, her small vegetable garden, a leaf, the Keep… … Sheriff sign,. She said she didn’t know the man on the sign but she liked his name. She was the highlight of my day!

The owners allowed me to make some pictures of their cherry trees. The fruit was ready to sell. It is a special variety, big and very tasty! Het is een hele openbaring om de vruchten echt aan bomen te zien. Het is echt anders om kersen zelf te zien aan een boom, dan een doos kopen op de markt of in een winkel. Hulde aan de boeren, fruittelers die het mogelijk maken om verse fruit bij hen te kopen. Vooral stadsmensen weten bijna niet meer hoe fruit aan bomen groeien.
Eugenia uniflora, known as the Surinam Cherry, or the Pitanga, is native to the east coast of South America from the Republic of Suriname and French Guiana to the north to Southern Brazil. It was introduced to Florida and the Bahamas as an ornamental plant and is considered an invasive species in the Bahamas. It is a botanical berry and is edible and often used in jams and jelly. As the berry grows it starts as green and becomes orange and then deeper and deeper shades of red. Orange berries are very sour and it is at its sweetest when it is dark red. We have one of these trees/shrubs growing in our yard.

Counter Lady: Tell her to teach you girls the market value on items!
Cherry: We know the market values! Bran Muffins = ok, Blueberry Muffins = good, Chocolate Muffins = big deal, Cupcakes = great deal! (proudly) See! Now can I please have 22 chocolate chip cookies! I have my own bag.
