I have yet to see these representations of Chester Cheetah's wild guitar-playin' motorcycle-ridin' lifestyle on the US versions of Cheetos packaging. The presence of a wedge of Swiss cheese on the Doritos packaging is very intriguing, indeed. Seen at GS Mart. October 10, 2012; Seoul, South Korea.
After replying to a friend’s e-mail tonight, I decided to take an after-dinner walk. There were still 1-½ hours before sunset and I needed the exercise.
I heard a bunch of crows making a racket outside and assumed there was a hawk or falcon or even a bald eagle perched nearby. After locking up and shutting the windows on this perfect summer day, I saw what was upsetting the birds. A small, spotted free-range leopard was catting around on my front deck. At first he seemed afraid of me as I opened the door, but I chit-chit-chitted him snapping my fingers lightly and looked away and he quickly approach me. He (she) wasn’t quite sure about me, at times spooked and other times appearing to warm right up.
I only had an iPhone handy. It’d have to do. This shot, as he approached, he appears a little mean and surly – more growlin' than meowlin'. But as he got closer he let me pet him and an air of curiosity took over as he tried to see what was inside my house as he looked through the open front door.
I’ve been hearing cats screeching at each other outside after dark the past few nights along the jungly side of the house. I’ve seen a few new freerangers the past couple of days during the day, none with collars but each, after a little skittishness, warming up to me to let me pet them. I wonder if this little jaguar is one of the new screechers visiting lately.
