I like to weird myself out before the doctor comes in by looking at all the spooky stuff in jars.
Last summer I went to see the doctor for a checkup. I always carry around my little 10MP Olympus Stylus 1030SW in my shirt pocket (it's made to shoot under water and take a 6 feet fall without major damage). While I was waiting for the doctor to come into the examination room, I took this picture of medical supplies. In the past year, I've made enough microstock sales from this photo to pay for the doctor visit. Nice trade-off, wouldn't you say?
My Weekend uploads Policy: I use this two-day period to upload some of my "not-so-pretty" images. These images probably won't be very popular with my contacts, but weekends are usually slow anyway. (I may move these weekend images to the back of my photostream after a few days, as they may distract from the visual identity of my "IronRodArt" stream.)
Comments to my Contacts: During the weekends I'm quite busy with family, civic, and church activities, so I don't have much time to follow my wonderful contacts. But I promise to catch up on Mondays!
This past Wed. I had my 1st checkup, 3 months out from my last treatment, and the doctors say I'm doing just great.
I was feeling so good about the news I decided to celebrate by stopping by the P.E.R.T. and taking a victory lap around the Raytharn Trail.
I must have been CRAZY! It was so cold and windy that hiking up that hill kind of took your breath away.
Still, it was a beautiful view from the top of the hill.
As I was heading back to the car I saw this guy up in the trees. I think he was holding on with everything he had, just not to get blown off the branch!
Just a quick checkup before we head back to Ukraine in a few weeks. Justus is in the 70th percentile for height and 90th for weight. He is solid as a rock, and everyone is always surprised when they pick him up.
I went to the eye doctor today, optomitrist or whatever, regular checkup... out of all the test this was by far the coolest, I put each eye up to a eye scanner, and a green light brightly and quickly scanned from right to left, my eye while dialated.
In the photo you can see, in the center, all the blood vessels coming together, behind this is where my optic nerve is. The small dark mass to the right is the point on the eye where you have the best vision, the name escapes me at this time. The green light is what is, I assume, the light from the green scanning light that is being reflected off of my eye. Normally I guess it would be red or black. This is not photoshopped at all, this is how the image appeared on the doctors' computer screen, and I asked if I could photograph a copy for myself (you may still see some scanlines from the monitor)

he is so fluffy,people at the practice thought he gained weight haha....he weighs the same as last visit,only this afternoon,he had a nice bath and was brushed,groomed and pampered by me ;)
World's largest chameleon by weight. Mouth was gaping open for a little while so I did a quick dental checkup for the chameleon.
The pups are stuck at home this morning due to heavy rain. Monty goes to the vet a little later on for his brace checkup
And introducing Ashley, Devons GF. She's an alright gal. We all like her.
Dev's Cancer markers are still hovering @ 2 almost non-existent. IDK if we will ever hear that there is a 0. Anyway this is really good news and we made appointments to go have blood tests again in about 8 weeks.
He did ask of he could have his port-a-cath removed from his chest and no was the answer so that was kind of a bummer but all in all a good visit. We have to have his head examined ;) soon to make sure all is well up there.
We went this morning to Radiology check-up. This is Dr. Fitzgerald standing in for Dr. Davis.
Basically this was a check up having to do with the whole head radiation Devon received before Gamma Knife Treatment.
As we were waiting I decided to call Dr. Dial's Gamma Knife team just to see when we would hear from them and they said I should have called them a day or so after the MRI! She gave us the news over the phone.
Devon was treated, if you'll remember, for 4 tumors or lesions in his brain. The report only speaks of 3 of them (So they are saying that one is nonexistant? Im still not exactly sure what she was saying about that. I may call again just to save my sanity) saying 1 was barely noticeable with contrast and the other 2 show NO new growth! That is the goal they say, no new growth because thats what cancer is "the Growth of tumor cells." This is all great news and definitely a turnaround from the last year.
They still arent saying remission yet which bugs me. I am beginning to wonder how often for cautions sake they dont yet say the word. Oh I hope that is the case.
Im so happy to see his life starting to return to some normalcy.
meet sky, our pet beagle. my wife had her recently spayed and a couple of days ago her suture was due to be removed. however, the vet decided the suture had to stay for one more week.
HRT checkup today after dropping almost 50lbs and still going. I haven’t been this light since October of 2017. Girl Powers are activated!!

Spring Dental Checkup
Time for Anna’s 6-month dental checkup and she got a clean bill of health. No cavities! Her top wisdom teeth are fully in and the bottom ones have erupted. She hasn’t had any issues with them so we aren’t having them removed. I can’t imagine putting her through the pain of surgery unless absolutely necessary. I was telling Nicole, her hygienist, that we are so grateful that Dr. Brandon allows Anna to stay in the practice. Technically she’s an adult now, but the pediatric atmosphere suits her needs better. He said he has a few older patients like Anna and she’s welcome to stay. <3
Cyber Tech Check - This vignette depicts a female cyborg getting a technical checkup at her home base. She’s actually a 7-piece, snap-together candy premium by Ferrero, the company famous for the “Kinder Surprise” candy & toy products popular throughout Europe for decades before finding retail space in the U.S. But, back in the late 1970s, Ferrero tried their candy/toy concept in the United States with a plastic Christmas ball package called “Lucky Drops”. Among the very Kinder-like toys were these cyborg figures. There were 4 different heads for female cyborgs, plus 4 different torsos and 4 different sets of arms and legs. These were packed randomly, making 64 possible combinations of the parts! There were also male versions of these cyborgs, of which I was able to find only 2 different.
The technician is a Britains gas station attendant that I completely repainted, color coded to match her charge. The floor was cut from a typewriter ribbon cassette.
