hehe she more or less placed the bean bags in the containers!

I'm planning on just using my Nikon D40 as a light meter, more or less, and then using the chart on the back of the camera to figure out how long I need to expose the film for. Normaly sunny day exposure seems to be about 3-5 seconds, overcast around 20-25 seconds. I want to see if I can get any night photography pics with this be basically just leaving the shutter open all night. Could be cool! Could suck really bad! Who knows? Good thing I'm taking about 4 metric tons of film to try this out!

Back on the mat! :-)

This is a map of downtown restaurants as a visual reference. If you're like me, you already know all the places but for some reason have a hard time picking one or remembering them when it's time to eat. So here is a cheat sheet to remind you of what's available.

Here are a few things to note before diving into this -

1 - These are places where you can get at least a lunch, so no bars, dessert houses or coffee-only cafes.

2 - The labels do not reflect the exact location, but I did my best to put them as close to the real location as possible. If you see something grossly out of place, please let me know.

3 - This map is for people familiar with downtown restaurants; therefore, it does not indicate type of cuisine, hours, price range, etc.

4 - Some names are abbreviated for space.

5 - I excluded businesses that I consider to be outside downtown e.g. Vigne, AVL Pizza, Three Brothers, Tripps, among others.

6 - To view a larger version of the map, click on the All Sizes link.

I hope this helps. Please suggest restaurants I missed, and feel free to argue with me about adding bars, etc. And pass this on to anyone you think might benefit from it. ¡Buen provecho!

This virtual quilt is made from two photos. is One is a cropped and edited image take from one of my paintings. The second photo is yet another mosaic made from photos of three Dear Jane blocks. Blogged.

desperate times calling

Pete, Mandy and I headed out to the Cheat Canyon when it was running around .9'.

My two heroes: the Cheat, and Horatio Penguin. They're conspiring against me, perhaps, but that's alright, because they're still Heroes to me.

Myrtle's cheating so she can have the most eggs!! SHAME!

My cousin and I play Words with Friends everyday and I swear she cheats. I love her dearly but she has a tendency to be a little airheaded. For example, we live very close to a lake and we were at the beach on this lake very early in the spring and there was something in the almost melted snow and we have her on camera saying it was probably a seal.

A seal?

In a lake?

With no ocean access at all?

But I love her regardless. She's my favorite cousin. But I still think she cheats. The highlighted words are hers. This is also the same girl that came up with words like Tele-Pathetic which we still raz her about now.

again: the pic is not of mine - I´m just playing around with it but I wanted to post it, because it shows what we are aiming for:

beeing out in the fields - with our dogs, and friends - do some work on retrieves - come home tired but satisfied

the moors would be a perfect place for that

and: you can not have to many dogs - just to less room to move

The Cheat needs no description!

love may be blind but i'm peeking anyways

(happy st. valentines day everyone)

....on my lonely tree.

I might like this one even better, though.

I like that I can frame this one right on the horizon and I like that I can view it from the east so as to get a decent sunset behind it at some time.

I don't like that it is 6 miles out of my way (12 round trip).
