I could post just sunrise photos for the rest of the year eternity in case anyone was wondering! This one was in Corpus Christi. We were the only ones there!
Sorry I missed everyone yesterday! Had to get serious with that raking! Filled 17 Leaf & Lawn bags and we aren't done yet! Today I am off for another sunrise and then a photography seminar! I'll catch up this evening!
Have a Great Tuesday Everyone!
Malapatan, Sarangani is bounded by a rich aquatic mangrove forest, where mangrove trees reach 10-20ft high, it has also serve as a barrier to the might waves of Celebes.
Going inside this aquatic forest is surreal. This is a shot from inside the “forest” with the sky matching its beauty and showcasing theatrical lights.
PLS LARGE View On Black

Time after time
Alone in the city of whirling blossoms
Those petals fly in the whirling wind
The miracle of meeting you
In a city where the wind whispered through
The hanamidou tells of the end of spring
One petal from this misty flower.

Took a quick snowshoeing trip overlooking Donner Lake last Friday. I shot these few snaps at the top up by the old train trestles. It was a perfect afternoon and I'm ready to hit the fresh mountain snow again after the next storm.
Still on the road and heading to Carlsbad Caverns this morning to see the bats return to the cave! Haven't had a chance to look at any of my fence shots but I found this one lurking on the harddrive! And you know me; I LOVE Fence Friday!
This fence in silhouette, overlooking a gorgeous sunset; was taken in Torrey Pines State Park in La Jolla, California!
Happy Fence Friday and have an "Awesome Sauce" weekend!!
"There’s simply no real substitute for physical presence.
We delude ourselves when we say otherwise, when we invoke and venerate “quality time,” a shopworn phrase with a debatable promise: that we can plan instances of extraordinary candor, plot episodes of exquisite tenderness, engineer intimacy in an appointed hour.
[…]
But people tend not to operate on cue. At least our moods and emotions don’t. We reach out for help at odd points; we bloom at unpredictable ones. The surest way to see the brightest colors, or the darkest ones, is to be watching and waiting and ready for them.”
⋅—Frank Bruni’s wonderful New York Times essay on the myth of “quality time.”
Two of a Kind
A complex pattern of shadows spread in a dramatic array across the facade of a building. Two knobs hide in the confusion waiting to be discovered. Strong textures add to the interest. Monochorome keeps the complexity of the designs easier to visualize and enjoy.

Water village life permeates the core of the boy's being. Double exposure gives focus to his beautiful face and yet hints at his enviornment. Details emerge in an unusual fashion to craft his story.

There's a storm tonight, so I muted my music and turned off all the lights and just sat there listening. Listening to the way my breath catches when I didn't expect that last one, the way that somehow all the city noises stop in that moment....and somehow my thoughts do too.
So I sat there listening. Because I can't do anything else. You see, that city is me. Quieted by the storm because it reminds me that I'm small. And so are my problems. But you know what? It also whispers this: "I love you." #sweeterpoetry
|| Quick question. Call it an interest poll. If I were to post some spoken pieces onto soundcloud, would any of you be interested in hearing them? ||

Been working all morning on job-hunting related tasks {ugh} ... needed a break to cheer me up! This did the trick!! Such a gorgeous sunset this was (the same as this one).
Now I'm off to the kitchen to whip up some Chicken Tetrazzini for the old man's birthday dinner. Got some Guinness Stout chillin' and a Carrot Cake with 52 candles standing by!! I'll be visiting your photostreams while cookin'!!
Happy Wednesday!!
So odd that the bird in back had all this detail, and the one in front is in complete silhouette!! This is a quick sunset we stopped for on the way back to San Diego from Laguna Beach. Jackie was so happy to be there after a grueling first semester.
Heading out the door for a mountain hike!! What are your plans today?
Happy Cliche Saturday Folks!!
