Looking down an old alley in Siena, I witnessed a charming journey of sorts. It seemed to me that this might have been “Papa” walking his grandson home from school. The tour books say, “Siena, a gem in the heart of Tuscany, offers a rich tapestry of experiences for visitors.” It was indeed an enchanting city, but I still think I found a shot that was as beautiful as an any cathedral I saw in Italy.

Just 60 kilometers from Oviedo stands Cudillero, one of the most picturesque villages (and the most beautiful) of the Asturian coast, which proudly overlooks the Bay of Biscay. The succession of beaches framed by dizzying cliffs, the undeniable smell of the sea and all its gastronomic delights are well worth a well-deserved summer vacation. The beauty of its beauty is indisputable

.... always cheering the place up!

Thank you for visits. favs and comments, it's greatly appreciated.

Every child is born with a unique strength that grows when the right environment is provided. Make them appreciate nature and be inspired by it.

Kids are the most wonderful, curious, and innocent beings. Sometimes, no matter how mature an adult is, a few inspiring words by an innocent child can shift one’s dimension to think and view things.

Parque John Lennon, Vedado, Habana, Cuba.

• From Parque John Lennon in the Vedado neighborhood. Vedado is bordered to the east by Central Havana district and west by the Miramar district, just north of Plaza de la Revolución, the central administrative division of the Cuban government. In early colonial times, it was forbidden to build on these lands to be able to see at far the enemy fleets coming. Hence the name of Vedado, which means forbidden in Spanish.

This is a charming, old shed door, partly covered by an attractive vine.

However, the door seems peculiar to me. Here is why:

- There is no sign of a door handle, lock or hinges.

- All that, plus the covering vine, suggests that the door opens IN not OUT.

So it seems that either

- the door is unsecured and just swings inward if you push on it,

- or there is another entrance to the shed and the door is secured from the inside.

😨

I did not snoop around for another door.

I did not try pushing on the door. Why?

If it had opened, that would been a form of breaking in! I am a foreigner in France. If caught breaking in during these fraught times, I feared being carted off to the Bastille or its local equivalent!
