It's good to be reminded that life's storms can sculpt us into something intriguing and beautiful. Our imperfections and scars become part of our magnetism, because people are drawn to that kind of beauty. It doesn't intimidate--it relates.

Local burger stand with charm. No indoor seating. Orders taken by handwritten (by you) ticket. This old school drive-in has been serving charcoal-grilled burgers, fries & shakes since 1959.

A saint Georges de Didonne.

a weathered arched tree at the end of southerscales looking out to ribblehead viaduct under its arched main branch and aproaching rain storm to give me a soaking.

Two images taken one after another & blended together in CS5. I am quite interested in the concept of blending extremely differing exposures of the same scene to see the result... Does it work???

Charlies garden dawn light taken last Saturday morning. One image was f13 1/3rd second & the other one was f13 &115 seconds.

Charred tree trunks, Bush on Crater Lake Road, near Batchelor, Northern Territory, Austalia; Jan. 2016

My son's footwear. (UK size 13) He's a big fella. Photographed on a bench in our garden.

Not named for a refreshing cuppa for the passing walker but after a fish, the Arctic Char, I think found in the adjacent lake of Crummock Water. Presumable a cottage used by local fishermen - now a landmark feature on the Buttermere scene.

Here’s another of late evening image as captured from the south bank of the Thames… This one was shot shortly after sunset, showing pedestrians on London’s Jubilee Bridge heading towards to the Charing Cross rail terminal.

It turned out to be an interesting sunset that night, as the beautiful colors seen here were visible only behind the rail station. The rest of the sky along the south bank was mostly cloudy and quite grey.

Back in November 2018 I had the sad occasion to attend the funeral of one my old navy friends, Andrew Sinclair. We were both on the same photographic course in 1965 and, as it happened, we shared the same birthday. Andrew was two years younger than myself but much taller than me! I had never been to the small town of Charing and, later that day, I made my way out to the Crematorium. Whilst in the town I took a few photographs of the main street. This picture gives viewers an idea of its prettiness. It was a beautiful autumnal day, moderately warm for the time of year and the weather held good for Andrew’s funeral. I dedicate the picture to Andrew. RIP my good friend. 😔

A blend of several exposures. I have been wanting this shot for a long time, so glad to finally grab it!

All of the (open) tube platforms at Charing Cross have pretty impressive artworks on them, especially the Elanor funeral procession mural on the Northern platforms. However, I avoid the Charing X branch of the Northern Line with a passion meaning I rarely get to see it. Instead, here is another favourite on the Bakerloo platforms that I get the pleasure of seeing six days of the week, from Paolo Ucello's 'St. George and The Dragon', on display at the National Gallery upstairs.
